Day6 is so good at expressing everything about youth (beauty, joy, loneliness, sadness...). This is a band that young Koreans in their teens to 30s (include me) really love. During spring and summer, Day6's songs are often heard on the streets of Korea. 😊 Thank you for reacting to Day6!

Whats cute and kinda inspirational with day6 is they (except drummer) all auditioned as vocalists. Like, they trained to be idols but then the guitarist (sungjin) was kinda of an awkward dancer. But then instead of cutting him out, jyp went as far as creating a band department just because they didn't want to lose out on his insane vocals.
Then they brought in a couple other vocalists, told them "hi ur a band now" and made them learn instruments, brought in a drummer and day6 was born.
They had to learn to make songs and started out playing in small clubs and live houses to gain fans before jyp properly debuted them.
While it feels like they were thrown into it, when you hear how personal and intimate the songs are you can't help but think they were born to sing in this genre 🔥❤️
all members except Sungjin already knew how to play the instruments even though they were idol trainees so I wouldn't say they made them learn the instruments but rather made them practice it more so they can improve into a more professional level.

lmao HAHHAHAHA but Sungjin is the only one who didn't know how to play an instrument prior to day6. All members (including the former ones) already knew how to play it. Sungjin was the only one who had no knowledge about instruments whatsoever so he first learned to play cajon, then later on learned the guitar 3 months before debuting in day6.

@@nmixxchange true! even though they've trained together for more than 5 years (minus Dowoon) and became an acoustic band for quite a long time but they've only actually became a band just a few months before their debut, it's insane. And though some might think that it's easy to have such chemistry since they have trained together for so long, but it's actually harder than it looks since half of them were idol trainees who originally wanted to be an idol obviously. Jae came in to train as a band originally after kpop star. Dowoon was originally accepted as a drummer too. Young K even hesitated to do the band even though he can play the guitar since he wanted to be an idol. They all came in together with different dreams in mind for the industry but to think that they've come this far as a band is amazing. And like you can tell too that they really love what they do now based on what we see on interviews, and how they talk about their music and works. That's why I'm so glad that despite their worries that people might forget the band after they comeback from the military but they're doing so well now and I don't even think this is their peak yet, they're becoming bigger and they deserve it so much.
Also a little appreciation for Young K for keeping the day6 name up last year, working nonstop as a soloist to promote day6 here and there. And though the other members also did a lot to promote day6 while the other members were at the military but Young K undeniably was one of the reasons why Day6 are becoming more known now and why they're getting invited to these big shows we never imagined day6 could ever attend from back then.

talking about young k, tbh i thougt he is the leader cause he is on everywhere last year. i know and like day6 song from 2019 but really know the member after see the guide recently LOL
@@nmixxchange yes!! the last member to comeback from the military was Wonpil! he just got discharged on November and he immediately went to work on the album so they can comeback faster a a group🥺
Yup Young K was (and still is) really everywhere in Korea these days, he's considered now a hot person(very popular person) in Korea and day6 has been charting a lot too in various popular music platforms in Korea. Sungjin took a hiatus before he enlisted and even after he came back he only came back as a DJ but did not really debut as a solo (but his solo debut is coming soon, he said he's just prioritizing day6 now!) and honestly I admire Sungjin for prioritizing his mental health above anything else cuz if anything. He surely looks so much better now and you could tell he's gotten happier too. Also glad that non of the fans were pressuring him to comeback and everyone just wished for him to be healthy and happy.
I love how both of you are really loving Wonpil and Sungjin's voice (Which everyone should duh) but I feel like Young K did not really get to show even half of what he can do with his voice on this killing voice. I'm not exaggerating but that man has got some insane voice. Bro is so versatile he can sing songs in any genre and do it so well. In here we only got to see his higher and lower register, and mostly heard him with his "crystal clear like voice" but he can have that rasp when he wants to. He's also got a very emotional powerful voice that he's often called as "someone who's had several divorces" because he sings like he just got divorced lol. And he's got killer falsetto! I'm just kinda sad he couldn't show more here (though it's not like he did bad cuz clearly NOT) but as a myday who has heard all of their over a hundred songs and has heard all of their covers, I know what he's capable of and it isn't shown here because they mostly sang the chorus (which is understandable cuz this is killing voice) Young K often sings in the pre chorus and bridge. Also if you ever get into their discography, 90% of the adlibs in their songs are done by Young K because that's how versatile his voice is.

@@rye4881 pls when that interview got released last night I got so soft🥺 You could feel how genuine the members are with their love for each other and with Young K saying this, you know he’s in it really for the band😩 I wish this channel would check out more of day6’s songs to see what I’m talking about as well as to see the amazing vocals and songwriting skills of all of the members. They mostly sang their most popular songs on killing voice, which is understandable but they have so many other songs that are just SO GOOD!!!

Their bassist - Young K is the main lyricist of the group, he wrote almost all their songs. He also a solo artist and radio DJ. A lot of popular K-pop Idols/artists are Young K fans! I`d advise you to check his cover-project - "YOUNG ONE", there`s a lot of English songs (btw he is fluent in it). My fav: "Love Me Less" (Max, Quinn Xcii cover), "What Am I" (Why Don't We cover), "Last Call" (Hudson Thames cover), "Like A Star" (Corinne Bailey Rae cover), "What A Wonderful World (Louis Armstrong cover)

The sound flips from hopeful to desperation like "johahamnida" you said feels like he's saying "things are so great" but then the translation is a desperate confession song, "i like you i tried to hold myself back, i really did but i really want to love you" and you're like 😦🥲
And most of their songs have such heartbreakingly beautiful lyrics (courtesy of youngk who is their kinda their main topliner/lyricist)
One of my favourite lyrics is from zombie like what do you mean "i feel like i became a zombie, with an empty mind and empty heart, like a scarecrow without a brain, when did i become this way" or i loved you, "really, i loved you, because i loved you too much i want to forget you, but i can't so I hate you, i love you so much that i want to hate you, but i can't hate you so i hate you even more" like bro stop hurting yourselffff who hurt uuuu youngkkkkkk 😭😭✋🏻

Day6 has an epic discography…please react more to them, and the fact that it is so comprehensive and all the members have a very hands on involvement in their composition and lyrics production, their albums are just so high quality every time.😊

If you guys decided to dig deeper into Day6, you might encounter some changes in the group because yeah they're originally debuted as 6 member group. That's why they called Day6. But not long after the debut, the keyboardist left and so Wonpil now have to play keyboard and synth. They continue as 5 until in 2022 the other guitarist left the group too. So now, they continue the journey with 4 member after they finished the military duty (FOUREVER is their comeback after 3 years long hiatus as group). Anyway check on their discography, you wont regret it, they're one of the few self-produced group in industry. And also always check on the lyrics too, some of their songs might have cheerful melody while having a depressed lyrics 😂
"TRUST AND LISTEN TO DAY6" that's how people acknowledge day6, they have no bad song, their song will suit you in every situation

Thanks for reacting to Day6! discovered them because they used to sing a ton of covers that sounded really great and when I checked out their og music I was hooked!! They experiment on their music a lot. They write and compose most (if not all) of their songs and most of them are written by Youngk (the bassist)
I suggest checking out the full versions of the songs from here to start because they missed a lot of my fave parts of the songs since it had to be cut short

This isn't even all of their officially released tracks. Tbh, DAY6' discography is no joke. They've got songs for every human emotions. They even have unreleased songs and covers (both in Korean and in English) that sound so good you would think it's their own. The fact that they write, compose, and produce their own music is just cherry on top of their amazing vocals. They deserve more recognition globally.

I was unfamiliar with DAY6, and even though KRplus kept recommending this "Killing Voice" video (most likely because I listened to TWICE's one so much!) I still hadn't watched it before your reaction, but I'm glad I did! I enjoyed your commentary throughout, as always.
I know I already let you know about this in the past, but NMIXX did an amazing cover of DAY6's song "You Make Me" (that I still listen to pretty often) and you can find it in one of their videos celebrating their 1st anniversary as a group (titled "To My NSWER".). It's a "PICK NMIXX" video, though, but really "PICK NMIXX" is a really, really mixed bag of NMIXX content. I'm just saying since you brought up your desire to watch some of this series, and I don't want to spoil anything in advance.

I feel like K Bands should be given more love. I do love a few K Bands myself. Ft Island is not new. They were so popular back in the day. They are not active anymore though. CN Blue used to be really popular too bt they are not active anymore as well. Currently my favourite are of course Day6, The Rose and N Flying.

22:35 that's exactly what I do. when im going on a long drive or just need to listen to music for a while without skipping, I just throw on Day6. They've been my most listened to artist on Spotify for like 4 years on my Wrapped, but only two or three of their songs will make my Top 100 songs because I just play their entire discography. I will occasionally skip Zombie and I Need Somebody (although I absolutely love them!) if I'm not in the mood to cry lol

Day6 songs are not so happy as you think. I know them from their debut and I fell in love when I read their lyrics. I started to understand the meaning of their songs, and it felted differently.
