Nobody is asking you to try this. If you want to attempt this project, you're gonna obviously need the materials to do so. But I guess you don't have any common sense laying around the house.

just put tape on ur flashlight (light source) and draw over it with a permanent marker and repeat at least 4 times and boom
this isn't a real UV light people! its just a "black light" imitation. that liquid looks similar to the liquid in glow sticks. hence the vibrant glow.
It's fluorescein (Highlighter Marker Ink) . Google it.
I actually googled it and read about fluorescein. You don't need UV light for this compound to emit light, but a light with about 494 nm wavelength which has a very close color to what we actually could see in this video.

And this is not increasing frequency, it's filtering light.
Visible light goes dark, but UV stays there.

Hey guys, thanks your this video I gave it a like. I have a question I hope you can answer. I noticed you use an LED flashlight, which according to my understanding it doesn't emit a lot of radiation in the UV range but I was surprised when I got the same great results you did in your video. My question is what difference would I get if I were to do the same experiment with a Mercury Vapor light bulb? Do the cellophane paper absorb UV-B radiation like regular glass do?

Vasishtha Serrattan yes. Clear tape colored with sharpie marker works! 1 piece colored Blue and 2 pieces colored purple stuck/taped on top of each other(It can also be 2 blue and 1 purple). You can turn your phones flashlight into a Blacklight very quickly this way. It can also be removed just as quick!

+MAD Science Hacks, Cellophane wrap roll purple and blue is totally the way!! I couldn't find any blacklight that spans over a 15 gal tank. My fish doesn't like white light as they sit there and die. They are tropical colorful fish that had blacklight on them when I got them. I thought only saltwaters do that. Now I'm going to put the purples and blues on the white light and have them colored and not bother them too much. :D

Definitively not real uv. You are just filtering out the light on the lower hand of the visible spectum. Any white light would work like you showed with fluorescent ink
