Whatever you say about JYP, you can't doubt his passion. Also, he encourages collaborations and interactions across companies. You look at his groups like Twice and Itzy, how free they are with other groups, and how much they acknowledge other group's songs.

After watching radio star. Jyp explained why he sent Wonder girls to the states for a failed global debut. The intro makes a lot of sense. Sunmi said it was a horrible time for her mentally, she struggled. While JYP looked back on those times as a experience and feels sorry because he didnt know there was gonna be a economic crisis and all those companies would shut down. And Wonder Girls would suffer. Lost their popularity in Korea, would have to build up their fandom again because they were away for so long. The lineup changes, members leaving, members joining, failed comebacks then finally success towards the end and a sudden disbandment. Wonder Girls went thru a lot. As a fan those videos in the beginning were emotional to watch.

This is an amazing collaboration by J.Y. Park and Sunmi. When We Disco is an amazing song. It's one of the best songs of 2020. It's probably my favorite collaboration song of all-time. They are legends. What they do is amazing. Live singing is an old-school breath of fresh air.

Yeah, this is my ideal state of how idol should perform on stage. Nowadays many idols lip sync, even for those who sing live often the backtrack is so loud. It's so hard to hear their real singing voice. It's great how senior artist like ssak3 and jyp were doing it like a role model.

I remember once that he said that he hates when men are embarrassed with dancing to girl group songs and half ass the choreography and when he dance to them he dance without changing the choreography to make it look more “manly”. I once read about how Wonder Girls could've been the Nation's Girl Group instead of SNSD (Girl's Generation) if they just didn't debut in America.
It was a bargain but JYP decided to take the risk and sent WG to promote in the US because he really wanted them to debut in America. While they were gone, SNSD started to rise in the entertainment market and make a name for themselves. It was already too late when WG came back. It's kind of sad but I believe things happen for a reason and also, this serves as a good lesson for JYP. I'm sure he learned a lot from this experience.

Okay I do like WG but regardless of whether WG left or not, it wouldn’t have impacted SNSD. Here me out:
Even in 2007 and 2008, WG was dominating with catchy songs but their album sales were always so-so. During that time, snsd did way better than wg in terms of that. Everyone knows digital sales means you get the general public’s love whereas physical sales means fandom power.
Personally, snsd would have came out on top regardless because they always had fandom power but gee just changed the game for them. Fyi, when gee came out, WG literally just left Korea to America. So it’s not like WG was away for years and people moved on.
I think if WG stayed, they would have stayed on top. But to say snsd wouldn’t be nation’s gg is kind of a stretch. Everyone knows that throughout an idol career, big fandoms are the most important because concerts and merchandises. Oh and not to mention, wg didn’t really appear on variety whereas snsd was everywhere on tv and they snatched commercials. Oh and a few members appeared in dramas and ost too

People commenting "JYP is a creep" haven't been into k-pop for that long. If you've been following Wonder Girls from the beginning, you know JYP is one of the most respectful and kind artists/bosses in the industry. If he thought Jihyo was too fat, he could've kicked her out of his company when she was even just a trainee. No one would even question him. But he didn't. People accuse him of fatshaming but look over things like how he asked Miihi from Nizi to eat well because she was becoming too skinny. He knows health is important for an idol for them to last in the long run, he was an idol himself. And he takes good measures to keep them healthy. So don't just throw accusations like that.

Sunmi's live vocals are everything
Most people who hate him don't even know he isn't the ceo but a chairman. He has nothing to do with promotions of groups. As far as i know the only thing he had power over until end 2016 ~early 2017 was what songs were good enough to promote. Now there is a vote system so that even doesn't apply anymore. JYP is just an artist under JYPE and the face of the company who comes up with amazing songs and ideas.
