Wtf what is this i hear about people being disappointed that it’s a ‘cute’ concept? They’re still kids, they don’t need a very dark, badass, and sexy concept while they’re all still so young. I wouldn’t even describe it as a cute concept actually. It’s just very youthful and playful and I think that fits them perfectly. Seriously, they haven’t even debuted yet! Let them be the teens they are right now, and maybe we’ll get a dark concept in the future when it suits them better.

Youth does not have to be cute tho. Personally I think it's just how South Korea's stereotype of youth is based of how they relate it to babies who r cute. Young idol groups typically have a cute concept bc they're young and South Korea's stereotype of being young means cute. Cuteness (esp in young ppl) is also a cultural thing. And if u look at NCT dream, they r pretty young in comparison to the other units & they debuted with a cute concept too. BTS even said in their reaction to their debut performance that ppl in South Korea were startled & shocked by their debut performance bc their song was so cool, dark (they used so much black in their concept) & powerful
But I really don't like cute concepts & a lot of other ppl don't either which is why girl groups (who tend to have cute concepts) have way less fans in comparison to boy groups (who tend to have cool concepts).
