Agreed! Except for a handful of people in the audience most of the folks there were born after show me love came out which was in 1993. So even though they may or may not have heard it they're not very familiar with the song. Even though back then through present day it's always been very popular. I was 12 years old when it came out and I bought the album and the CD single back then and I still have it to this day!

These songs were bigger than their genre... Meaning they reached a worldwide audience at an iconic level. If you were like me, and were listening to Hip Hop during it's golden age, you still knew and sung these songs.
