LYRICS:
Oh, I’ve done it again
Dug a little deep and it’s all caved in
Now I free fall in a black hole
I know I’m getting warm cos I feel so cold.
But I’m looking on the bright side now
Trying to figure out somehow (none of this is real but)
It’s looking like a write off now
I think we need to talk like now.
So don’t swear to god he never asked you
It’s not his heart you drove a knife through
not his world you turned inside out
not his tears still rolling down
Jesus Christ you’re so damn cold
Don’t you know you’ve lost control?
Forget about the things you think I know
No secrets, you can’t keep me in the dark
Deathblow, look at you go
Brought a T-62 to a rodeo
So tall it broke the fourth wall
Guess my fairy-tale has a few plot holes
well I’m looking on the bright side now
Trying to figure out somehow (none of this is real no)
you can give the act up now
yeah, go ahead and take a bow.
I’m not looking for salvation, just a little faith In anyone or anything.
Cos it’s all come caving in
And it’s time I knew you so - 음악
idk y I’m commenting on this all these years later but I was talking to a friend about how I direct the videos for our band & this was the first one i ever did. It was 2 days after I relapsed and very emotional. On Forest’s first take i cried.
As we were trying to write amo, I refused at first to write about anything to do with my marriage/divorce. It had been a few months & I was happy to be out of a relationship I realised was very toxic. So I felt like writing about it was very insincere as I believed I was in a good place.
What I hadn’t realised is I hadn’t processed what had happened, I hadn’t dealt with the trauma of finding out the person you loved had chosen someone else over you. I hadn’t accepted my part, I hadn’t processed anything. I just ran. & because of this I couldn’t create real, honest, passionate music. I was stuck in a limbo. & my band could only stand and watch as I was trapped in this place.
They knew I needed to process the events & write about them.
This video is inspired by my journey to the realisation that feelings need to be felt. You can’t run away from trauma you can only work through it. Taking that idea this is a story set in a world in a very bleak situation. The ecosystem has collapsed, most of the planets creatures are extinct, and forest is a scientist that holds the key to salvation. But his refusal to process his grief has pretty much wiped his memory and left him empty. I always wanted the details to be interpreted by you guys but I do want to tell you one thing.. listen to the very end of the video… with headphones.
I may do this for every video if anyone interacts hehe
Love oli xx
Keep going forward.
we’re all proud of you oli
peace and love brother.
I don’t really know how to explain the feeling I had reading that. All I can say is thank you, and I wish you the best. Much love and respect.

Whiteless Eyes I know right. I was like they got Forest Whitaker in there music video. Like wow
That’s cuz 90% of their fan base now consists of 12 year old girls. You reap just what you sow. Washed out pop acts can only go so far :)

Whiteless Eyes That was the first thing I thought!!!!
that's why im here in the comments, btw thanks for the info
I am a metal head but also a musician and i have mad respect for a band that can create their own sound. Its got the n u metal vibes and but to come from what they were to this. Its not selling out. Its not paying the bills. Its making what you are feeling. And that can move mountaintops.
❤️Yes Sir, you got that absolutely right! Song is a banger for sure, or as Oli said - "a bop" Truth be told, I didn't even "hear" this song, even though I'd listened many times, I just never "got it". Then I saw that video someone posted of BMTH doing this live at what looked like a smaller venue, more relaxed with no props, lights or confetti. I noticed the cool rhythm and tge song's "aura" hit me. And hard. The way Oli sang and moved, really got to me, I'd never seen him like that, it waa fascinating. Just add rhythm & blues, jazz, and soul to BMTH's musical madness! ❤️ Hell, I'm all for the mingling of genres and fans🤘

Speaking of Mr. Whitaker if you haven't seen Ghost dog: way of the samurai then what are you doing go watch it now cause it's one of his all time best performances!..
When Forest smiles after lyrics such as "But I'm lookin' on the bright side now", does anybody else get hit with some hardcore emotion? The transition from such a miserable, somber etching on his face to one full of hope - it simultaneously warms my heart and breaks it.

I’m a long time BMTH fan and have been listening to them from the very beginning since I was 14-15. It has been awesome to see the progression in their music through they years, and even though their style has changed substantially there is always something particular about their music that makes it so easy to recognize.
Every song, even the more poppy ones always have that bmth feel that is hard to explain but is always there.
That is the definition of staying true to yourself while allowing yourself to evolve no matter what the majority of the fan base says. I absolutely love it. Keep it up! Can’t wait for parasite eve!
The emotions shown when he mouths "looking on the bright side now" makes me tear up every time
Okay so from the comments and studying the video and listening to this a million times because it's awesome I think that:
Forest had a wife and child. Forest was driving his daughter when they were in an accident which left his lower body paralyzed and killed his daughter. After the accident Forest's wife likely blamed him for their daughter's death and cheated on him with the man we see in the video over and over depicted with flames / menacing look. She left him which broke him to the point where (in whatever future we are in) it was necessary to try extreme mind altering experiments in an attempt to bring him back from the edge. Most of the video we see of him is a simulation where he's being forced to confront and visualize the memories and thoughts that are haunting him. He's eventually able to stand up in the simulation which is impossible for him in the real world, but symbolizes that he's ready to move on and overcome the tragedy he's endured.
That's my guess anyway.
I'm sorry but why is this comment not more popular????
I love your theory
Really cool analysis. Thank you for sharing!
Singers wife cheated
I agreed and I think he couldn’t cope with everything so the images are meant to trigger a response.
as someone else here mentioned, he says the wife and daughter both got killed and the guy was the one who did it as he was drunk. which is why forest is shown overcoming his fears by standing up to that guy.
I love the fact that forest is probably winning dad of the year. His daughters a huge fan. Talk about brownie points.
Aww that is to freaking amazing i didnt know that.

Bmth got me into heavy music at a young age when I heard pray for plagues and I love the heavy stuff but no matter how different each album is the attention that the band gives to creating music no matter the genre shift is amazing and they can’t miss. @@AshishPrinz exactly this video is amazing.
For those asking about the meaning…Sykes explained to NME that the visual is "meant to be a representation of the grieving process. It's a visual metaphor for what the song is talking about."
Sykes added: "Forest is the protagonist and a lot of people are counting on him to be able to recall these memories and process them. The spectrum of his emotions is impacting on all of these different experiments. I wanted it to have a message for what's going on in the world right now."
@Pete r bye bye fucker
Just Pete ok boomer
thanks for the descriptive explanation, it now makes a lot more sense! A good audio-video representation of the grieving process. This is something most popular music avoids or does not do well. Sad to watch & think about, but so necessary for those of us in the midst of it to have something to connect to!
Like the giver of memories

Ohhhh Bring Me The Horizon has helped me through some dark times 🖤 LOVEEE them
Fell out of touch with BMTH for the last few years, but started exploring their content again. Found this one almost immediately, and it perfectly describes a situation I just went through. The amazing thing is it didn't hurt listening to this. It actually felt very healing and freeing. Now I remember why I have always loved this group 💜
damn his acting is amazing, when he says looking on the bright side now, and he smiles suddenly, damn good
yeah, i can feel his emotion

That's because he's Forest Whitaker.
And here I'm still waiting for Doomed MV
I am really happy that I found this band. It is incredible how they can mix different musical genders, and always with a healthy level of weirdness and experimentation that sometimes leaves you shocked or makes you laugh. Not to mention that the songs are quite catchy. Well this is called originality, that today’s music needs so much.
This band never misses🔥
