Ex: When I was in my math class, my algebra teacher always said "Dropping it makes it work better." when people dropped the graphing calculators. This kid dropped his and said "No, it only makes them slower" to which I said, without thinking, "Same thing happens with children." luckily people found it funny and not offensive.

@@elsie4802 It's a both a blessing and a curse. Some people will think you're a jerk for saying offensive things, no matter how true they are. Others fimd it refreshing that your blatantly honest and don't try to sugar coat things. There are times when I know that I'm on thin ice so I do my best to re-think what is about to be said and pay more attention to the atmosphere and recognize who I'm talking to.

"Jet black" actually refers to the stone. Jet, the rock, is typically very very dark black and is very smooth and shiny when polished. Its almost like saying something is Onyx black or coal black.
