Ok so I'm new to Brad Mondo page this was one of the first videos I saw. I'm curious now, I have never dyed my hair so why is box dye not recommended? What does Mondo recommend?
@@moonhowl08 Its mostly lack of experience/not the most quality dyes. If you know the right techniques and have the right stuff, you can do an okay job but (speaking as someone who does home dye jobs and cuts) having someone else do it will almost always come out better because they can literally get a better angle/view of what they're doing

Can we also encourage beginners to do their hair in shifts? You don't have to get all the bleach on it at one time, especially if you're doing it alone. You can do the back, lift, wash and then do the front. You can do the ends, lift, wash and then do the roots. Also, we should also encourage people to get, not twice what they think they need, but 4 times what they think they need. Every time I dye my hair - the bleach is pretty much the same, but the dye.... I always need more or different colors to get what I wanted to achieve. Just, be more conservative and be prepared. *** also, there is blue shampoo! I have natural ashy blonde hair, but I still get a better result using the blue based bleach than the purple..... so, purple's not always the answer.

The first girl seems like she would stress me out instantly ... She had no care in the world for her friends hair at all smh
Nahh it’s was the friend in the second video for me. The first girl at least tried to remember what she learned about bleaching and she and her friend had an understanding that she wasn’t an expert. In the second video the girl literally stated she didn’t want her roots, nor the front, dyed first (as it’s supposed to be). The friend literally tried to argue (“you know bleach is going all over it right”) like sis who cares that’s her hair just do it the way she asked or step tf back. Lol the first video had a vibe where the girl was just nervous about her hair being bleached but she didn’t seem to doubt her friend too much.

Nah, I liked the first girl. Pouring the bleach was dumb, but I felt like her and her friend trusted each other, and she did put a lot of work into fixing it, and she was successful. I think her and her friend were at the same level of IDGAF.

@@baria7119 there's usually tons of ammonia in box dye which isn't good for your hair and you don't know what kind of developer they're giving you. that's why some of those girls' hair turned out wonky after bleaching it.

I had a mental breakdown just last night. I dyed my dark blonde/light brown hair with Garnier box dye "platinum blonde" & while it is SO CLOSE to being exactly what I wanted... it's not. So I cried for about an hour till I calmed down & then went to watch a TON of videos about fixing slightly orange roots & how to get the color I want. I ordered a ton of stuff from Sally's & will be picking all of it up in the morning, so that's when the adventure begins.
BUT... it's just hair. It's hair. It grows back. It can be fixed. There are hats for a reason. Everything is gonna be okay... After watching these videos, I know my hair will be just fine. I'll be okay. I feel much better after watching these videos.

I legit had a customer come in to Walmart today and flag me down while standing in the hair dye aisle. I asked her if I could help her find anything and she said she wanted a toner for her hair. So naturally I glanced to just see what her hair looks like. She had yellow roots that turned into red and fades into a dark brown. I was horrified at what this woman was asking for while looking at her head. She wanted a toner so that her ends were fixed. I told her "um we have this toner, but honestly your best bet is to bleach your hair." We didn't have any box kits in stock. So I suggested she go to Sally's the next town over *literally 20 minutes away* This woman goes "oh I don't wanna go that far." I told her she could come back in a few days to see if we've restocked. She proceeds to grab a platinum box dye and an antibrass shampoo. I had to leave the aisle before I said something that got me fired. I tried. 😂🤦

Awwwe. If ypu have a car is okay. Try me going by bus every hr is stress not being out 3 weeks depression, health body not best. I am looking for getting my niose pires back to none small as is a bit big noticabke. Not taking care of muself now ruined my looks on nose,etc but that us worst sealing with besides hair can be fixed cut at salon, etc next month bday. I don't know if my nose pores issue will be by then. I hope so. I looked up KRplus nice natural skin chem peel, but natural cuz cant go or pay a salon I kniw has been around long, xiz no soecials only once when could not oay. Hope this holiday is then I get it. Im scared though, cuz sensitive thin skin, not allot like others but enough. They are chemicaks after all & they may be goid tecj not dault, but product is okay but not on mr idk. I need sonething not to expensive atm. Her recipe for natural is too much work yucky icky. Maybe with constant care till then be ok if not by week of bday I will have to find instant fix. Lack of eating, water, spitting up lost fluids,etc collagen so is why. Once yoh get it not sure can be reversed though says it can be, but I was so keeping myself & would not have to do much anyhow at all if had not gone through those 3 weeks. No shower etc whaloeing in fear, etc. This time was worse of same time straight daily weekly consequetively somehow caused this. I think saw minor change so I will give it time using mask 2 times a week.
@@erosebud123 We can assume whatever we want to but people don't always buy stuff for themselves only. I don't dye my hair but sometimes when I'm shopping I buy box dye for my grandma who dyes her hair at home. This could have been a similar case for all we know.

I would tell my hairdresser to do whatever she wants but she’s too nervous, she’s like a skittish pixie I remember I went in for a pixie cut and she was so nervous literally checking to see if I’m still okay with it every five minutes and I’m like “girl you could shave it off and I wouldn’t give a fuck.” She was nervous the entire time I had to coax her to take more off and when she was done it was like she was waiting for me to burst out crying god I love her. 😂

I couldn't cut all my hair off lol I'm too emotionally attached. I think about it sometimes but then remember last time I got it like cut cut (8 inches) my grandpa died the next day and I like KNOW its completely unrelated but also my subconscious is like if you cut your hair something bad will happen so...
since quarantine has started, I've managed to cut my waist length hair, to the top of my chest, then to my shoulders, then to my ears, then I shaved my head, bleached my hair, dyed it mint green, bleached my eyebrows, then dyed them mint green... I feel like I understand these girls on a spiritual level.

I shaved my head a few days ago. My hair has been my biggest insecurity, and i wanted to love me, for me. I was tired of relying on my hair for happiness, validation, and finding comfort in it in order to feel beautiful. I wanted to prove to myself that I DO not have to have hair to be beautiful let alone follow societal expectations because for a LONG LONG time I let them get the best of me. I wanted to thank you Brad for encouraging women and being one of the reasons why I found the courage to do so, it’s people like you that give me strength. I love you so much, keep spreading the love, positivity, and kindness that you do.
