The apple A9 has to be the best chip cuz its still holds up in 2019 and in my opinion the jump from A8 to A9 is much more significant than from A9 to A10.

I have been using the iPhone 8 for the past year, I bought the iPhone SE 64GB to use a secondary, used it continually, then I went ahead and gave the SE to my sister as a hand me down. This week I found myself purchasing another iPhone SE lmao and they're going to end up refreshing it for sure based on how the refreshes have been going!

the iPod Touch probably had that stuff cached as It didn't even refresh the feed where as the iPhone SE loaded the feed at the time the app opened.
I have a feeling the iPod touch is tuned to use the a10 efficiency cores much more often due to its small battery while the SE only has high performance cores and only uses that at full speed

Thank you for the VDO. One of the MOST IMPORTANT things you should have mentioned is that the iPhone SE has a much better and longer lasting battery life. Sadly the iPod Touch 7's battery is no better than the iPod Touch 6 which is lying on a table plugged into a "battery life support system" AKA, my clock radio. I've been using my iPod Touch 5 for years and just a couple of days ago bought an iPhone SE from eBay.
My Takeaway: Speed is not king. All Apple's products have pretty good speed, but it's the battery life that is the most important for me.
Again, great review, just wished you me made a note that the SE will have a MUCH better battery life. Thumbs up.

Not bad! I was just thinking about those two devices-for how they would compare. I also would be curious to see how the iPod touch can compare with iPhone 7/7 Plus (The fact that itโs a 7th generation iPod touch that uses the same chip as the iPhone 7, iPod touch 7 makes for a great nickname, thatโs genius in my opinion!). Iโve visited and watched the video using an iPod touch of that generation.
First off, I got that device to go along with my 5th generation iPad mini because of personalized engraving and the 256GB storage option, while having the same color/finish and matching my favorite dynamic wallpaper from Apple.
And I use it as a backup or device alternative to iPhone. Lightweight and compact, itโs ideal for playing and listening to music, so I also have it for that purpose. After all, its battery life is decent.
This is the most affordable option for an Apple device that runs their mobile software - iOS

I got a new SE from Cricket for $139 during a sale last year, just after Apple stopped selling them in Sept. I love it - small, portable, pocket-sized, fast. Not convenient for editing Shortcuts, but I expect it to run iOS 13, and maybe 14. I plan to stick with it as long as possible, even when I can't update.

Iโd love to see an update on the iPod 7, I found that the iPod 7 is such a beast I use mine for gaming and I think a lot of people would love to own one, there really is something about it that is fun. iOS 14 is amazing on the iPod the A10 is a speedy chip even cut down. Apple proved without saying it to the world there chips are still fast even cut down and older.

You can just turn off the passcode for the iPad touch and then you can usually get into the iPad touch by just clicking the home button and then it will be like the iPhone SE speed wise

I don't get the point of underclocking the A10 CPU in the iPod. I mean, the only advantage this iPod had over the iPhone SE was a faster CPU, but now we can see it doesn't even make the iPod surpass the SE's performance. Suffice to say that the iPod is not worth buying at all, you can literally purchase an iPhone SE for a cheaper price at the moment. If Apple put much effort into redesigning the internal parts of their iPod and optimized the A10 clock speed (as they did in the SE), it would much more faster and desirable. I'm so disappointed.
The ipod has a tiny battery and also it is a small phone so they might have under-clocked to prevent it from getting too hot and preserve battery life.

The iPod touch has a really small battery. So the A10 chip is under clocked so it can last longer. It was the same with the previous A8 chip version of last ten iPod touch. It didnโt run metal (I think if Iโm right), and it was an under clocked chip, so the performance was closer to a 5s than the 6 that it shared its chipset with. If you buy an iPod touch new youโll get full Apple warranty, which is something you wonโt get with a second hand phone. And as a secondary device you really donโt need it to be a phone.
