I met Kevin Hart probably two decades ago before I knew who Kevin Hart was. He hosted a Monday night open mike in West LA next to Roscoes and we would see him on Saturdays as well. He didn't know me but on more than one occasion he greeted me at the door and walked me to the curb at 2 am to wait for the valet. Stand up is not only a description of his comedy but a depiction of his character.

The special started off slow but was actually hella funny. Kevin is hilarious when talks and just tells stories. The Audible idea sounds super dope too.
Am I the only one who hates these zoom interviews? The delay when people talk over each other drives me nuts 😫 I know there’s no other way to safely do them at the moment but I can’t wait til they can go back to having in person interviews. It all just flows better, if that makes sense.

I’m a firm believer that Kevin Hart is genuinely and naturally funny. Despite his past slip ups and scandals he is someone I have loads of respect for. If you watch his interviews or his KRplus shows like Cold as Balls or What the Fit, which are largely unscripted, he is so funny and he brings out the best in his guests. I’ve laughed way more at those shows than I have watching his last few stand up specials but that’s why I have hope he can up his stand up game. I’m not sure if he is relying too much on old material, if he is trying too hard and over analyzing his jokes, or if he’s not trying hard enough because he is focused on other things but I know he is still a crazy hard worker and I know he is has a gift for comedy so I truly hope he doesn’t give up on stand up. When I think of Kevin Hart I think of stand up. I’m not afraid to give his stand ups a bad review but I will certainly keep watching them because I have faith in his talent, commitment, and drive for comedy.
People fail to realize Kevin Hart made his millions on being transparent and making jokes out of his life. He’s 41 now, father to 4, 2nd wife, rich rich, in every movie etc. His jokes are gonna be different. I love Kevin

I can't believe how strong the audible idea is from Kevin Hart and Charlemagne! I've been an audible listening for 7-8 years now, because of mental health and self development, and I can't overstate how important and useful audible has been. It'll be great to get a black section in there, and help us find writers of our own kin.

There is a duality to showing someone what they do not have. On the one hand it hurts because someone doesn't have access to that, or have the same accolades as who ever they are watching. Whether it be a bag, a company, or money. It hurts because, you are watching people have what you do not, or do what you are not. Not cannot but are not. While in the same vien it heals to know you can have it, can have access to it, and know someone is achieving at their goals. It's a duality of hurt and healing . So it is so healing to see this, but it also hurts that I'm not a part of any of it.

I don’t think it’s about his grind because his grind is crazy. I think in fact it’s because he is grinding too hard with multiple projects. When he was broke he only had 1 job which was comedy. It’s stand up, movies, lol podcasts, as well as many other projects so I really don’t expect him to be as funny as he was when he only just had Comedy
