Rome was quite vulnerable during this interview. This demonstrates emotional maturity. Jess and Rome are beautiful examples of healthy co-parenting. They both are emotionally mature, which makes this possible. Well done.

I finally understand the nature of Jess’ and Rome’s relationship. Jess looks out for Rome because she knows that he doesn't really have anyone else. Since they‘re not romantically involved and aren't interested in one another but have a son together, it creates a brother-sister dynamic. I can appreciate that. Jess has a big heart. 💯💯💯❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yes the part that gets me is when she first had her son by ROME and she was struggling to pay bills sitting in her apartment with no lights and electricity………he won’t around.

One of the best interviews, seeing a man being so vulnerable and serious about the situations he has been through. That’s a big deal. Most celebrities wouldn’t come up there and be this real. This is an eye opener for most men. Not wanting to be alone is a real feelings most MEN feel but won’t admit.

If you ever decide to have a kid its not about you anymore. Its not about him anymore. Its about the child. Its obvious alot of parents dont care about the kids because alot of them grow up with only one parent. As long as nobody is abusive both need to stay for the child it can always work. People give up to easy

My mom and dad are similar to them. They were never married, had 4 kids together, and a on and off relationship.. no it wasn’t all good but they grew to become best friends, and they’re really close in a friendly way. It feels good to see that
I love this dynamic ❤️ Once emotions are pushed aside, the co parenting relationship can flourish. This is the definition of true friendship
One of the best interviews y'all have ever had. Rome struggled to look Jess in the eye the whole time. Guilt, shame and anger are whooping him, but he was incredibly articulate and vulnerable. This convo was necessary.

I'm not gonna lie. As a black man, I don't know how you can listen everything Rome said and not relate. I felt everything he said 1000%
Some of us may be able to empathize without being able to fully relate, especially if we haven't experienced a broken home, an abusive father, a complicated family situation, or baby mommas. While I appreciate Rome's honesty and openness, our experiences are not the same. So yeah, some of us can empathize, but NOT relate. 👍🏾

This interview and conversation was so beautiful and raw and unfiltered and needed. Thank both of them for their evolution, for their selflessness on letting us into their story so that we could learn and for the glow up in general. Changing habits, finding grace for yourself and others, ego death, learning how to communicate etc etc is so mf hard to do! Anyone who attempts and succeeds at it is to be applauded and I'm so proud of both of them for doing that for themselves, their kids and each other! It inspires me to do the same💯

I hear you. I also think its important to realize this is happening communally. I can't take on a man's pain one-on-one. I'm not built for it. But when he expresses so in a safe communal space. It is powerful and SEXY! We can take a new chapter back home where we discuss how to move forward. I cant emphasis enough how much I need for my home space to be non-toxic - its too much of a trigger from my own childhood pain

42 and one of my bffs is my only child's dad. Most everyone I know shouts us out on how we co-parent. And given our young, rocky, silly relationship. We do great by our now grown daughter. He's in a relationship as am, I. So to see them get along like this isn't new territory for me, in any way. I applaud them 👏🏾. This is a real conversation. A lot of black families do stuff like what Rome is talking about to their kids, nieces, nephews etc. A lot of black (American/West Indian mostly) Gen X and Baby Boomers sabotaged their kids and whenever the younger people try to speak to them to fix it privately, they deny, lie, cry etc. It's sad and this is difficult to say but we need to forgive them and do better in our own lives. Jess is a good woman for giving him the space to heal and share his experiences on these public platforms.
Not Rome sitting in that chair like he's an actually celebrity being interviewed. He took this so seriously. I'm sure he was geeked! 🤣🤣
