As woman who is experiencing perimenopause at this time, the symptoms are crazy. Hot flashes, painful sex and not sleeping at night are just some of the symptoms. Menopause is not a joke. And Ladies, you will get old and it will come out of no where. Go ahead and talk to your mothers and doctors about this. And the pain in the vagina comes from the fact the vagina looses its elasticity and which can cause pain.
It's not even about "getting old". Some folk start it in their 30s! 😮 it's a natural life progression for women. Most Folk have lived half their life at 38 as the life expectancy is less than 80 (for a good majority).

Halle might have been experiencing vaginal dryness and inflammation with post intercourse pain which is due to atrophic vaginitis a symptom of menopause… it’s quite common.

Menopause has so many different symptoms and affects ppl differently I wish Jess didn’t make it seem like it’s so far fetched. Just like Cancer you can’t pin point specific symptoms ppl experience it differently.

I am in perimenopause. And yes occasionally it feels like I’m being electrocuted. The abdomen and peri area. It’s random. And heart palpitations. Jess is ignorant and always will be. But she’s an excellent addition to their ignorance in this show.

Going through menopause and NEVER heard of that kind of pain. Usually it's hot flashes, sweats, etc. Runs early in my family and sharp pain like blades is a first!!

She may have had ulcers but they were probably from thinning mucosa and dryness not herpes
Menopause takes your body through an abundance of things & defiantly each woman is totally different it's not a game so please make sure you do your research & ask your doctor plenty of questions because they don't tell you anything they just gloss right over it as if you're tripping, you would be surprised of the issues your body will have when going through perimenopause/menopause. Just to name a few, Hot flashes are insane, no sleep, no sex drive, heart burn, dry skin, everyone always talks about the weight gain, I didn't have that issue, there are a lot of symptoms that would surprise the hell out of you. Ladies, please do your homework & talk to your daughters about it. Doctors misdiagnose menopause all the time & make you feel so dumb & insane, listen to your body. So, to Halle's point all woman symptoms are very different.

I’m a Nurse Practitioner, and I diagnose perimenopause and herpes a lot !!The only way to find out is to check females hormones and herpes simplex viral testing in the blood, these are all blood tests!
To all the fellas out here who deny ever catching an STD, they know that feeling of going to P and it feels like razor blades. That’s that clap… I know I experienced that serious pain before, and started being more careful afterwards.

I have never heard of that symptom as it related to menopause. But, I'm not sure if Hallee needed to share that. As someone who is the beginning of menopause all don't have the same symptoms, but the biggest problem we all experience with regard to menopause is hot flashes / irritability and belly bloat and weight gain. MENOPAUSE IS NOTHING NICE. ITS HELL ON WHEELS.
That's the reason why Halle DID feel the need to share that information because it IS a common symptom for Peri- and Menopause. It's random and it is usually mislabeled as something else, which is what she was saying. A lot of women don't know that that symptom truly is from Menopause. I found out the hard way but thankfully I had a DR that was educated about these things.

I'm ruling out the gonorrhea, trichomonas, and chlamydia because beside cancer, that's the purpose of a woman's pelvic exam. They test you for everything so she would've known if she had an STD. I would sue my doctor for mental and emotional trauma from such traumatizing misdiagnosis. On the other hand what did he see to tell her that she has the worse case of herpes he's ever seen?

I got misdiagnosed by urgent care - they told me I had a cold sore on my lip. Once the medication they gave me did nothing and I was able to make a dermatologist appointment, I found out I just had an allergic reaction to the whitening in my toothpaste. They gave me medication and it was gone in less than 24 hours.
I love jess, I think she's doing great. I can't read that good under pressure either so she gives me hope. 🤣

With the Halle Berry thing... when I read the article, I recall her saying that Van Hunt and her had rough sex which led to that issue which her unscrupulous doctor misdiagnosed as herpes without even testing her for herpes. To me, her doctor and Van Hunt are in the wrong here. Van Hunt should do more foreplay and use lube or vaginal lube suppositories (that CBD FORIA stuff is for women who have vaginismus, dyspareunia or general vaginal dryness due to hormonal imbalances from multiple disorders or menopause and perimenopause )

People forget that shingles is a form of herpes zoster which apparently can be in the genital area too which sounds painful. Who knows? But Premenopause and perimenopause are not talked about enough. I went into pre at age 35 and didn’t find answers until age 40-41 when I saw a lady on KRplus talking about it in more detail than just hot flashes. And it’s wild that gynecologists are not educating women about it….that should be part of their focus of women’s health.
I have heard of it. It takes a doctor with experience and more knowledge who doesn't jump to those conclusions to diagnose it.

Vaginal dryness is real because.... It's the hormones... the lack of excretion.. We're not as lubricated.. You can have dry eyes and if a woman doesn't use lubricant and she's through menopause, it will be painful because the moisture is no longer there

The "razor blade feeling" comes from vaginal dryness which can cause the inside of the vagina to tear when the penis enters/exits/slides, etc. This causes bleeding and excruciating pain for the menopausal woman. Due to the tearing and bleeding....an amateur gynecologist can mistake it for herpes. The ignorance and lack of research before reporting these stories in our community is mind blowing!😞

Halle needs to find another MD. I hope this wasn’t her gynecologist. As a nurse and a woman I have learned & seen “some things.” Changes due to menopause and active herpes lesions are not even similar.
I know a mom who is 64 and has not yet gone thru menopause, she still has periods and everything
Some people can go into their 60s but it’s not super common. She should get her hormones levels checked because if she is in menopause by blood tests and she is bleeding it could be a disease process in the uterus and she probably should get a biopsy of her endometrium.

When they report stories about medical health, I wish they would do research before they comment and say inappropriate and incorrect things. Talking to a couple of friends/family is not proof of the symptoms of perimenopause. Keep in mind that people are also less likely to be honest out of embarrassment. If you are a woman and something doesn't feel right, please go to the doctor and get a second opinion if necessary. Also, that comment about the herpes was weird and awkward.....
