Women get fibroids whether they use birth control or not, I didn’t use birth control and I still got fibroids.
Same I got fibroids before I ever used birth control. I am now using birth control to manage the heavy bleeding and anemia caused by the fibroids.

There was a study done around 2012 on the correlation between fibroids, breast cancer and hair relaxers on black women. Of course there is family history to take in consideration.
Hormones in the food
Birth control is for much more than just contraception. Women and girls take birth control for many reasons (acne, PMS, debilitating cramps, anemia, etc.) Also, teaching safe sex has proven to be far more effective than preaching abstinence.

Of course everything doesn't work for every person and there's always side effects but that's why you do your research and talk to professionals. Technology and medicine is much more advanced now. Ladies that's where the problems lies, birth control should never be altered or misused in any other ways other than which it was designed to do. It's should not be use for acne since there are so many alternatives. From I was 15, I have very heavy periods for 11 days. I knew that I was not sexual active so I refuse to take. I change my diet and exercise even during and it helps. At 20 I had a boyfriend, then married. 5 years later w d our first child, then our second, then 22 years later our last. Have you notice that in the USA black women after 35 have hard times to conceive, have you also notice that in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean, black women can conceive even after 45 easily, it's simple, black women outside of the USA, started a sex life later thus contraceptive later too.
It's crazy that her mom forced her to get on the pill. When I was 18 my dad said he trusted me that I wouldn't get pregnant and he didn't want me to take anything that can impact my health... I am 30 and child free. Being celibate, wearing condoms, and using the pull out game helps... Just have control of your life, if you don't want kids then don't have them.
I dont think its crazy that she made her get on birth control. The last thing any mother or father wants is for their child to be a teenage parent and then have to help raise that the 👶

I believe manipulating teenagers’ hormones while they’re still in development leads to things like PCOS and high risk pregnancies (when you’re actually ready to have a child), in addition to the known side effects. This is a talk that we should be having much more often.

I can go get a vasectomy anytime I want by consulting a doctor, but in certain states like here in TX, my wife would essentially have to get my signed consent before choosing to get her tubes tied.
