A lot of new rappers release EPs and market them as albums so just in case the EP is lackluster they can say "it was just a mix tape. It was just an EP." Meg's last project Suga was first announced as her "debut album" but after the trouble with her label and how it pretty much flopped she started saying it was an EP.....
With that being said her rollout for Good News is HORRIBLE!!! Ppl are still talking about the shooting, Her and Tory haven't gone to court yet, the single Don't Stop was completely trash, and she needs more songs and positive buzz to push the album. I'm not sure if she'll include WAP because technically it's Cardi's song or if she'll include Savage Remix because that technically was in the Suga era, but both songs were a hit and it'll boost her album sales for Good News.
I'm also tired of artist doing "surprise" release of albums with no buildup. They just drop a song then 4 months later randomly tweet that the album is coming out next week

But I'm *guessing* due to legal issues from 1501 and some songs not being cleared be released on this project some songs couldn't be included. There was a rush for Suga to be released that's why it didn't include a lot of songs. I definitely remember her calling Suga her debut album but like 2 days before it was released she started correcting ppl who called it an album, up until then she allowed everybody to call it an album (which it ORGINALLY was, it was even marketed as her debut album). Because the runtime for Suga is only 28 mins it's not considered an album.
