The officer should sue the department not only because ultimately that's who's at fault and that's where he'll get the most money but because it'll force the department to defend themselves and make it the officer's fault by saying, "You guys didn't act according to policy by not announcing yourselves so it's y'alls fault not ours". They were authorised to execute a no knock warrant but chose to knock anyway as it was assessed as low risk. They fired when fired upon. Seriously what protocol did they break? Because Kennith Walker said Breonna Taylor shot at the police when you see the one officer’s body cam footage. He’s crying and acting hysterical and he clearly says that he didn’t shoot at the cops ; that she did it.
And it wasn’t the wrong house. It wasn’t a mistake. Breonna Taylor’s name was on the warrant as was her address. They had been surveying her apartment for at least 3 years. Jamarcus Glover was the leader of this operation. And Breonna was his girlfriend. And she was actively and willingly involved. You sound like fools when you deny the truth. You really do.
I’m glad he’s suing. Once the facts are presented in court, they will have to acknowledge that it was an unlawful search and the officers were in the wrong
