What they dont tell you is that you have to have at least 90k to purchase one of those vacants for $1 🤦🏽‍♀️. No one who actually lives in these communities can afford that smh

Heres the catch.....You have to have atleast 90k in your bank account in order to acquire thses vacant houses.

DC did that over 40 years ago and those houses are now very very valuable. Oh trust it will gentrify the hoods.

Too much stipulations and these houses have back taxes, the houses are and will be needed to demolish and start from the foundation up. Due to mold, pest, and drywalls that are not updated by building codes and standards. READ THE FINE PRINTS AND GET AT LEAST TWO LAWYERS

Back in the late 60s my step grand father purchased a house for a dollar off north Ave. He lived there for over 40 years.

Usually with deals like this, you have to fix the house within a certain timeframe… it’s a good way for the city to generate money from property taxes too

What they didnt tell you about these $1 homes. Those purchasing a home in the program must promise to renovate the property and have at least $90,000 to fix it up. Owners must also move in within a year, and stay in the home for five years.

Baltimore has done this before and STILL they have a surplus of vacant houses.

The average Italian won't buy a fixer-upper in a remote southern village in Italy for 1€, because rustic-build quality of those homes are like Ford Model Ts; buying one in Baltimore for $1 would be more feasible to restore/flip. Believe me!
