Organ donor family meets recipient, then THIS happens

My brother was killed in in 1989 in a vehicular homicide, and we made him an organ donor. Some time later we got a letter from the donor network about his recipients. My mom did not read English, so she relied on my dad and me to read the letter to her. We never told her that my brother's heart was transplanted at Stanford University into a man who lived less than 10 miles from my parents. My mom always second guessed her decision to make my brother a donor and for years she was unsettled. Ironically, 7 years later my dad needed a kidney transplant, and I was his donor. Afterwards, when she saw what the transplant did for my dad, she asked me "Chris helped people like this?" I said "Yes, Mom." After that she felt peace.
