The fact that a song about depression and suicidal thoughts is flagged for offensive content is pretty much everything wrong with mental health systems in the world -- mainstream doesn't want to talk about it, let alone acknowledge it. It's still taboo and they want us to be hushed. Meanwhile this song is like therapy and makes me feel not so alone. It kept me from losing all hope when I was in a very dark place a couple years ago - when I started listening to BMTH after a traumatic event in my life. It's better to get that shit out and not hold it in. Scream about it if you must. Rock on, my friends. You got this. Keep living. Keep your head up.

That's a DISGUSTING IMPORTANT POINT to make mate, I thought we were past this crap when Chester died, when do we start discussing this stuff with teenagers who are at real risk of suicide; I gained a lot of my symptoms of my PTSD in high school, I could've easily gone down that route and the only people who were even talking about it was an Australian men's magazine like Maxim, that's where I first heard about it and immediately started envisioning pretty graphic suicide plans which I eventually carried out over and over through my teens, 20s and even early 30s and I'm only 35

I played it for my wife since I feel it describes what was running through my head in the time leading to it. Im doing so much better, but I play this song whenever I feel myself getting down so I can get those feelings out, if that makes sense

I don't even know how I came across BMTH but like I love every song they released whether it be heavy or light. The lyrics are always very on point/relatable. I remember Oli saying "broken ppl fix broken ppl" n I feel like it's true since the only way to understand what other ppl feel is to experience it yourself. I've been feeling down for so long n BMTH has helped me go through so much in life. Imma continue to support n cheer them on even in the future.

From one person with ADHD to another, this song hits HARD. Oli captured the kinds of feelings I experience when I'm having a bad time of it so well, this song means a lot to me for that reason.
I feel like very few people know this is what he was writing about specifically. It speaks to so many problems... depression, anxiety, addiction. But "my head wasn't wired for this world..." ugh. A shot fired right into the ADHD temple.
Think someone listened to this and thought it promotes suicide and feeling alone. But that's not even close. I was on the edge several years ago and I heard this song. Even though I'd heard it before, it hit a dif spot. It got me through some bad shit and I felt anything but suicidal and alone. People need to open up and take those fucking filters off and see what's real. Deal with it.
I agree with you. I don't think this song "promotes suicide" - I think it's painting a picture (pretty accurately) of the headspace someone is in when they are depressed/suicidal. For those of us who have struggled with that or been in that place, this song provides comfort that an artist can put words/music to how we've felt. That being said, if a younger person is listening to it, it helps to have someone sit with them and explain that in order to give the song an appropriate context.

Lots of young people struggle with thoughts of suicide due to feeling helpless to a world that can overpower them societally, and this song would make them feel not alone in that, and that it’s ok to be having these feelings, in a world that doesn’t give a shit about and is horribly unfair to them, by letting them know that there are people out there who could understand them, and empathize with them to offer support and genuine care for someone other than themselves. Giving them the courage to push forward amongst people who don’t understand them or how to satisfy their needs. I was in a situation where I had to make my way through the psychiatric system where I knew they wouldn’t kill me after I was hunted by a group of people connected to a sociopathic Alameda police officer that statutory raped a mentally ill friend of mine that didn’t know what to do about it because of the social things it would disrupt, and bring me the horizon helped me through that with songs like parasite eve, kingslayer, and ludens, and this was the bring me the horizon song she liked the most next to doomed when performed live at the royal albert hall with orchestra and choir music in the background, feeling a little overwhelmed by shadow Moses.

I've been depressed, started listening to BMTH 7 or 8 years ago. And here, I am. I still am. And it's fucking 2021, and I thought I'll get over but yea. "it's not a phase because it happens all the time". Now I feel it on another level.
Ive been depressed most of my life, it's slowly getting better with medication and therapy

I think I fell in love with every song before this one on the album, then life took me through all of ....this...and when he first sings "I feel myself go under" , the pain felt resonates with me. This song is my favorite from them right now.
Don't get me wrong but I like both of the styles BMTH has had and has. Sometimes I may want to listen to There Is A Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It or That's The Spirit, stop making a big fucking deal about it, AND THEY'RE NOT A FUCKING BOYBAND.

BMTH has more than two styles. They started off with a Metalcore/Deathcore cross over style on their EP. Then moved onto a straight out Deathcore sound on CYB. Then a straight out Metalcore sound on SS. Then on There is a Hell they continued with Metalcore but added orchestra, electronic, and singing elements to the sound. Sempiternal continued with this theme but further incorporated non-metal sounds onto their Metalcore sound. Then with That's the Spirit they completely ditched Metalcore and became Hard Rock.
+Steven Zissimos you should learn the meaning of boyband ..Boybands and bands are two different things. In boyband everyone sings and dont play instruments so are you deaf or blind man?
