THEORY
Jackson was the captain and his subordinates summoned him so that he can reunite in his past life with his love who’s been taken from him and the subordinates sacrifice their lives to help him. In the last scene when Jackson uses the hand signs he basically summons themselves back to the grave but this time they are together.

(This part of Chinese culture, 结印, was formed around the year of 400 in China, and later was brought to Japan. That's why the similar elements were shown in some Japanese animates or Ninja culture.) I love jackson and I like all of his songs, but I swear there's no fucking other like this one. As a performing arts student (plus theatre and film nerd) I can do nothing but praise his acting skills this time, it was so clean, so precise and I'm beyond pleased with how he got to map out all this feelings of grief, longing and then finally relief on his face and body. So proud of my boy.

I think the storyline is Jackson's character was a warrior who fell in love with the king's wife or daughter, and he was killed. In turn, she was on some Romeo and Juliet ish... So that may be why he resurrected all filthy while she resurrected spotlessly, being laid to rest royally.
