I understand what you mean, that water is fuckin cool, but having it throughout the whole video would have made it lose its touch. Having it at the end makes an impact, and makes people remember the video, which is what we want :)

You have to understand the connecting storyline from previous Monsta X MVs/Films to fully appreciate this video. They’re going to release a performance video after the views hit a certain amount and I think that’ll be more of your cup of tea Terry.
As a Monbebe following the storyline which connects so many videos from 2016 until now & The Connect Music Film (basically a special MV) and even concert VCRs, this video ties into all of those. It’s like a puzzle but instead of getting the last piece you only got one piece so I understand why you felt like there was too much going on. I think if you just watch Dramarama, the “Music Film”, the “Previous Film”, Shoot Out and then came back to this video it would make a lot more sense.

I just watched this video today and I am so blown. I knew MONSTA X were gonna come back with something cool. I mean their MONSTA X? Their name is cool. Anyways Wonho snatched my wigs and so did the other members and as well as the song

Each member in this mv represents different sins:
Shownu : Wrath
Wonho : Sloth
Joonheon : Agony
Hyungwon : Pride
Kihyun : Lonliness
Minhyuk : Greed
I.M : Envy

They made it that way to fit in the story-line (which are used for theories which again Monbebes feed on) and the choreo just enough to make us anticipate the live version

If the water part was 2/3 of the video we wouldn't have the story line. And I need the story line sorry

Also I totally see your point with the dancing in the water scene. I knew that you would love that part when I first saw the MV. I just think the editors did that to leave a bigger impact at the end. It works. I also agree that the video seems all over the place but it makes sense it the end though. In the laser grid scene you can see a structure made up of the rooms the members were in. As for the outside scene, I just think Monsta X were a group of spies(?) and their missions as to break into this warehouse or something. The rooms they were in were just something they went through. Idk I’m just rambling at this point 😂

A little background-Their story is somewhat confusing since it started with The Clan which is All in, Figter, and Beautiful the story ended with Beautiful kinda with a cliff hanger....Even the boys themselves during All in era said that it would be explained in the future...they started a new story line with Dramarama which the story centered around Hyungwon (which the story is still somewhat centered around him but, is also centered around Changkyun aka I.M in Shoot Out) it then traveled into The Connect album with Destroyer and Jealousy....This all apparently from the theories I myself and other Monbebe's have made is that this ties into The Clan and is explaining what happened either to or after The Clan ended..... Currently now the boys are apparently Seven Deadly Sins....I myself is still trying to figure out how this ties in with Shoot Out....Sorry if this is all so confusing lol

It's the fact that their lyrics actually imitate sound effects as opposed to just sounding like lyrics. The lyrics themselves have a stuttering quality that just honestly once you notice it - it just gets better. You should watch their comeback show at Mnet. Water dancingggg
Also - as for the video being everywhere you gotta understand it's not everywhere to the people that stan them - it's tied into their last video. Kind of like how you know all the little details in a BTS video - Monbebe's know all of the little details in a Monsta X one, so all the references, and the continuous storyline etc.

The first part of the mv is mostly about the STORYLINR that is connected from their past mv. The last part of the mv is just bonus on how monsta x is also a great artist and performance. Overall : MASTERPIECE. I wouldn't have it any other way. Everything is balance from the storyline to HOW 🔥 THEY ARE and that is enough 🐝

It might feel all over the place, but that's because they are connecting a lot of previous mvs into this. Dancing in the water was jealousy era, the chalkboard formulas was also jealousy (think destroyer film), some scenes remind me of dramarama and beautiful era. Idk how I forgot shootout ;-;
Even the dance feels familiar, like they've got pieces from previous choreos. I love it!
