She made it big before celebrities were just famous for being famous (Kardashians), or saying/doing controversial/stupid stuff. I was in sophomore year high school when this song broke out, and everyone in school knew her- instant pop icon. She later had some troubled years and fell off the radar, but didn't stay out- unlike other pop stars, she survived, came back and kept her career going strong.

In that era you can see the quality of things and of People!!!!! Completly different in this era wich is just shit!
Unless you lived through her hype, her worldwide domination, the way she ruled the entire world, you cannot understand. She is an icon for this very reason. Oh, and her immense talent and incredible soulful voice. I hope she creates a personal powerful album when she is ready to return.

i remember staying up super late watching music videos on our tiny tv with antena, i sat on the floor when baby one more time came on for the first time. the grainy tv and small screen with barely color was nothing compared to this song and brittany killing it in the video, i was instantly obsessed . that era can never be repeated. so happy that was my childhood.
