As singing is what BTOB has been acknowledged, the title of the track, 'The Song' is a song itself which they are most confident with. People listen to songs to reminisce and think of others. Whether it is a happy or sad memory, as time passes it all becomes a part of their reminiscence and this is a song that encompasses all that nostalgia and lonely emotion which everyone could relate to.
It contains what BTOB wanted to tell fans who have waited for a long time. LIM HYUNSIK who wrote ‘Missing You’ and producing team MosPick who wrote ‘It’s Okay’ joined forces and produce BTOB’s signature ballad that is more mature and complete in its quality.
‘The Song’ will melt everyone’s ears and heart with its lyrical and sincere sound with BTOB’s voice.

I saw an article saying that "the song" is not outstanding at all. There is a comment from a baby melody who had expected a different genre because of Kingdom. But but but - this THE SONG is purely BTOB and MELODY and only those whose hearts are united can truly understand what this song means. BTOB is not an idol group of such fame and fantasies. BTOB are hardworking idols, from nobody to becoming the best version of themselves. Why ballad again? Because they are btob and we are melody. The song connects us to one another, through thick or thin, victories or despair, we are together. And this is the purest sentiment of this song, 10 years of being us, BTOB and MELODY. @@peachxtaehyung This is because the reason why BTOB joined the industry is because they are artists at heart. There is a difference between idols and artists. Idols put all their efforts into training how to sing and dance, then once they debut, they start doing promotions, having sponsorships with different brands, fan meetings... etc. Their time isn't focused mainly on the art of music itself. Whereas artists create and perform art.
It is so obvious that BTOB are more like artists than idol because they actually were set up to be a band project, not an idol group (but due to CN-Blue being so popular, they debuted as an idol group for a better shot in the industry). Other than that, they produce their own songs, write their own lyrics, and way before debut, they did university degrees in music (not to mention the 2 BTOB members got accepted in a prestigious music university with a 3000:5 acceptance rate). Just by hearing their music and voices, you can tell their vocal techniques, (i.e. the range, tone, colour, flexibility, breathing, rapping flow, articulation and overall quality) are highly refined, and that applies to each and every one of the members. You can tell that they had had vocal lessons since a young age. Even the arrangement of who sings or raps each part are thoroughly thought of by the members themselves based off the musical experience they had. As amazing as all other idol groups and soloists' songs are, they just don't fit into what we "non-kpop listeners" like in music, which is the refinement of their craft due to their organic passion and creativity when it comes to music itself.
Obviously, I have no intention of discriminating idols, because we all know fully well that training to become an idol requires so much sacrifice and hard work. But what I'm trying to say is that BTOB hits different. They prioritise music and art before anything else, they don't compete with the charts and don't focus too much with promotions. Rather, they let their talents shine through over time.

Then on top of that, since they still are idols, they do reality shows to showcase their funny personalities (Weekly idol, Knowing Bros...etc.). And also go on reality shows that shows their musical talents (Hyena on the Keyboard, immortal songs, Build Up: Vocal Boy Group Survival, Kingdom...etc.)
Basically, BTOB has got the best of both worlds when it comes to artistry and being an idol. And it is super rare that a group of people with this much artistic talent become an idol group in the first place, plus they also have great chemistry, and are super likeable. Imagine if Maria Carey, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion debuted as a girl group, their vocals will melt our ears away. And BTOB feels just like that. Therefore us "non-kpop listeners" think that they are the only group that we will like until another group like BTOB comes out, which would really be a 1 in a million chance.

i was casually watching this and it suddenly hit me that it could be a song for ilhoon and trust me i bawled my eyes out cause it HURT, although it is directed towards melody... it makes even more sense if you think that this is for HIM.
I keep coming back here because their voices is that comforting, it feels like you're going back home after a long tiring day and you just want to lay down and relax. BTOB is home. I'm glad I got to know them.

It's no joke. BTOB's popularity is growing much more and we can clearly see it from the views they're getting these days. I'm guessing more international kpop fans finally got introduced to BTOB especially through Kingdom. I used to remember when I was newly introduced to this group, I knew they were famous in Korea but I was kinda shocked to see the views they got on their MVS. I remember melodys trying so hard to reach 20M views in their debut song which was released in 2012. We wanted to gift BTOB 20M views before the boy's comeback from military services. But here we are today. We reached 20M in just 5 days! Mind blowing! As a melody I'm so glad their music is reaching to more people and is giving comfort to those in need. They are definitely talented artists and deserve so much more.

I grew up listening and watching their videos because of my mom who's been a melody for nearly 7 years. I am not complaining this band deserves so much more love. BtoB is one of the best things that has happened to me. And now that my mom is in a different country, listening to their songs make me feel like she's here again.

@@ljgella05 Their difference also shows in the way they give Melodies their parts to sing: Minhyuk makes his version very hard and complicated but presents in a very gentle, boyfriendlike manner while Hyunsik makes his version simple and short but presents them in a strict professor tone. The reason why BTOB’s fanchant difficulty increased during Hyunsik’s military period was bc Minhyuk took over fanchants.

Yeah, they reference their previous songs (It's Okay, Missing You, Only One For Me and Beautiful Pain), but did anyone notice the songs were sort of connected? It's Okay and Missing You are from their first two studio albums (Complete and Brother Act. respectively), while Only one for me and Beautiful Pain are from their two 2018 albums (This Is Us and Hour Moment) which were right before their enlistment period began (and during the enlistment too since Hour Moment was without Eunkwang).

어떻게 비투비는 내가 힘들때마다 딱맞게 곡을 내서 위로곡이 되어주는 걸까. 'show your love' 도 코로나로 처음 자가격리 할때 나와서 힘이 되어 주었고, '노래'는 코로나확진 되었을때 힘이 되어 주네.
ye i guess im becoming a fan now. actually funny, because i stopped actively listening to kpop and watching activites like 2 years ago and the only group i ever stanned was exo, but after seeing school 2015 i saw sungjae. and then later on i found out he starred in BUSTED! & that btob sang one of the osts for the drama i've watched (fight for my way) and i really liked the ost, too. after listening to some songs, i think it's safe to say that i've become a fan. and i think no one even needs to guess who my main bias in btob is xD but they're really talented. i don't get why they don't get more views. melody, let's stream this a lot and bring btob back to where they were! they deserve the world.

I’m Korean/American and grew up in America pretty much all my life. Let me tell you I do NOT like K-pop at all. Then I found BTOB last year and I’m totally in LOVE them!! I’m so bored of American music, they all sound the same to me. BTOB is the only music I listen to now. I just love this album and listen to this all day!! I hope they reach over 100 million views!!!

i keep coming back n listening to this masterpiece, eventho btob isn’t big internationally, im still so proud of my boys bc they aren’t afraid to show their love n try new things. i’ve been a melody for almost 3 years now n yes i cry to almost all btob’s songs but THIS this song rlly touched my heart bc if u actually learn n understand the lyrics, it hurts bc it’s like they dedicated this song for ilhoon who has been away for almost 2 years now. the mailbox, the letters, the lyrics, the melody, they prepared everything for him. i rlly hope someday after he heals, he can rejoin the group bc without him, melodies wouldn’t exists. Btob will always n forever be ot7, melody lets keep praying!!! 💙
