Regarding the clock question: old clocks had to be wound so the fact that all the clocks were all stopped likely meant that the men disappeared well before their disappearance was investigated.

Fun fact: at the end of hypothermia, people feel hot because your body burns up all of its store of glucose in a last ditch attempt to make you feel warm, so if you ever end up in a hypothermic condition, do not take all of your clothes off as they would help keep you warm.

The song My Grandfather's Clock, where the clock stopped forever when the old man died is about a wind-up clock. It stopped when the owner died because he wasn't winding it anymore. In the song, the clock stopping seemed like it was predicting the man's death, but in real life, things like that used to happen because antique clocks sometimes had a trick to winding them properly, and if you didn't know the clock's peculiarities, you couldn't wind it and keep it working, so the old man's relatives were unable to wind the clock again after it stopped.

Agreed. It could have been named better, but it's a great soda. I love the mild grapefruit, citrus taste. It doesn't have too much bitterness like the actual fruit, and it's not too sweet either. And it's not just a mid western thing.

Hey guys! My roommate literally got a wind-up clock from 1923 two weeks ago; the wind lasts about 12 hours the way he did it which means that winding the clocks would likely be a daily ritual. “Ope, it’s clock-winding time!” and then they go around and wind up all the clocks in the lighthouse
We had grandmother clocks, and they were every day. And Ryan, if you had a pocket watch and did that, you would overwind it, and it would need repair
My mom has an windup clock as well, but hers last a month.

I don't have it on the mantle atm: 1)this is an old building. The floors slope. Don't trust it to stay there, and the glass has a butterfly/floral pattern, irreplaceable.
2) the sound would be too much here (I live over a business).
A clock back then needed to be wound every single day. The very most they would last without being 'charged' would be two days.
Seems like if the daily log had a last entry date, and the clocks all stopped around the time they were all meant to be wound, we can probably postulate a time of death to within 24-48 hours of that last journal entry.
TBH y’all are right for not doing supernatural/ghost hunting just yet. I’m in WI and there’s an asylum that you can do ghost hunting in, went with some friends in a small group of other people (15 total) and us 3 were the only people wearing masks. (This was in June, our cases were not nearly as high as they are now) The non mask wearing was more horrifying than the sounds we heard 😅
I never really bought into the whole "Shane is a demon thing" but hearing him say that squirt is his favorite soda has convinced me. He's literally Satan.

I prefer supernatural due to how they both act in most of the locations. To me true crime tends to be 50/50 if I will like it or find it boring, these last 2 have been great so im not too annoyed. Wish they were able to do the supernatural stuff during october but due to safety risks its understandable

Mechanical clocks usually have to be wound once a week or so, so since they weren't discovered to be missing for several weeks its not at all strange that the clocks were stopped. If they were still running it'd conflict with the timeline suggested by the empty fireplace and guy who said he hadn't seen the lighthouse operating for weeks.
Would they all stop at the same time? Like would they all point to 3:00 instead of one pointing to 3, and the other to 3:03 and the other at 3:05?
Some clocks need to be wound more often than that, I know my grandparents have a clock that needs to be wound every night. From what I know (after reading books written around the 1900s) it would be common to wind all the clocks in the house before going to bed each night.
I can imagine it was a routine. Wind all the clocks up in the morning so they’d all eventually run out at the same time.
I am one of those who really miss Supernatural... but I completely understand the need to be safe and healthy! I do hope you guys will give us the best season of Supernatural ever when we finally return to "normal"... but until then, Thank you so much for working so hard and creating so much awesome content!!!

clock stopping is a common occurrence in abductions, but the most likely explanation was that they needed to be wound every few weeks and the men were gone so they didn't get wound. I would wind all the clocks at once so I wouldn't have to do it again until it was time so the fact that all the clocks stopped to me isn't that big of a deal

@@bummm7065 I'm talking about alien abductions, time loss is a common phenomenon experienced reportedly. I think the idea is that something in the craft would interfere with the clock's internal mechanisms. In my laboratory the clocks stop working every once in a while or slow down because the inside of the building has copper in it (its an older building) and the copper drains the batteries in the clocks faster. Now during this time there weren't battery operated clocks, but if they had metal components or used quartz to keep time that could be an "explanation". Quartz resonates at specific frequencies and the idea behind alien craft (this is all speculation of course) is that thy might operate at a different frequency, that's why some reports are silent crafts. Other ideas are that there could be a surge of radiation/electricity coming from the craft that interferes with clock function. Given that they're old clocks if it was a symptom of abduction (which I still think my clock winding lemma was the most realistic one, Occam's razor and all) that maybe the metallics of the craft interfered with the springs or cogs. One last idea is that some people believe that some aliens exist in planes of reality offset from our own and can travel freely between the two, causing distortions in time and space. Hence time loss or clocks stopping. It depends on how deep down the rabbit hole you want to go.
