It's so sad how people ignore the work and everything that has gone in this episode because it's not the usual hosts, I mean, I love them but that's still not a reason to hate on people trying to variate their content and making a genuinely great video

For everyone asking/complaining about Shane and Ryan's absence on BUN:
1. They always take a break between Unsolved seasons for to rest, do other stuff as well as work on the upcoming season.
2. They are still doing Unsolved but with the pandemic going on as well as traveling restrictions everything had to be put on hold.
Do you expect BF to leave thus channel inactive in the meantime? Either leave some constructive criticisms if you any issues or just don't watch and move on to something else if you're not willing to give any other employees a chance.
And random but I'm pretty sure Matt also does some work for Watcher - Shane, Ryan and Steven's channel.

if it doesn't have UNSOLVED on the thumbnail, it's not an Unsolved video and will not have shane and ryan. if you don't want to watch anything other than unsolved, then stop clicking on videos that don't have UNSOLVED on the THUMBNAIL. i'm sure people know this. and at this point ya'll are just clicking on other videos just to be haters. leave us people who watch general weird stuff in peace

Alotta y'all can't respect people taking a break or having an off-season. I like the Ghoul Boys as much as the next, but y'all gotta understand that it takes alot of prep and research to set up another season, and just like any other show, there's gonna be long gaps between them.

Shane and Ryan created their own channel to have more control over the content they were making. Their new channel is called Watcher Entertainment.
I miss them here though.

For the love of god people.... Yes, Ryan and Shane have a new channel called "Watcher". But they also will still create new episodes of Unsolved True Crime and Unsolved Paranormal. That isnt changing.... Anything else on this channel is just bonus content. I don't get what is so hard to understand about that.

I don't think the big problem is a lack of Ryan and Shane specifically, but it's more like the way these new guys are doing it is just very different. These new people don't have the same type of personality or apparent drive, they aren't the 2 sides of a coin dynamic. To me, they just seem like people talking about a story.

I had open heart surgery when I was a toddler. It left me with a few scars, including what looks like yhe back side of a zipper down my chest. I once convinced my younger cousin that I'm an alien in human disguise and the scar looks like a zipper because it is the opening of my human suit.

I think a lot of you guys need to understand the Buzzfeed is a company with a lot of creators and still wants views on their videos. Ryan and Shane (and Steven) left and started their own media company so they’d have more freedom to make the kind of content they’d want to make, instead of being forced to ONLY focus on Buzzfeed Unsolved while their other ideas get paid dirt (like how Buzzfeed stopped producing Shane’s Ruining History so now he does Puppet History on Watcher).
They have stated they’re still doing Unsolved on a freelance basis, but they haven’t been able to film the Supernatural season because of the quarantine. They’re gonna come back, but some of you need to understand it won’t be for a while.
These other creators are asked to do similar videos and whether or not they want them to be uploaded to the Buzzfeed Unsolved channel and face criticism just because it’s NOT Unsolved is up for debate. It is most likely a decision by higher-ups within Buzzfeed to make clickbait-y videos and titles to get Unsolved viewers to watch things, and to upload videos on this channel that should really be on other channels. Don’t blame the creators, who are just trying to do their jobs, for these things. If you only like Ryan and Shane and want to support them instead, go subscribe to them on Watcher.

Why are you guys being so mean? Yes we all want Shane and Ryan, but they already explained they can't do more cases until covid is over. At least we are getting content. I like this. I think its interesting. These guys worked hard for our entertainment. Stop calling them names and stuff.

"Buzzfeed Unsolved" without Ryan and Shane is not the Buzzfeed Unsolved we want.

1961, a mixed race couple driving late at night after stopping at a dinner... if I had to make an educated guess as to what happened, I would say that they might have drawn the attention of someone at the dinner who took a disliking to them, followed them, and attacked them. Then, struggling to deal with the truth of a very real attack, the faulty process of hypnosis was used to access "hidden" memories... these seems to be the truth with most alien abductions.

70% of these comments are whining how BuzzFeed unsolved isn’t posting Ryan and Shane content. If you’re looking for the ghoul boys, they’ve left BuzzFeed and are doing good work at their channel Watcher.
This is a good video, Matt works hard and makes content that I, for one, appreciates. It’s rude to flood the comments asking for Ryan and Shane, especially when they’ve just finished a season and need time and a break to work on the next one.
All you people hating on this channel and Matt need to grow up and understand that this is a channel that posts more than Ghoul boys content

I don't think anyone would have been mad if the thumbnail and tittle didn't sound like they where part of the Unsolved series

I feel so bad for anyone who uploads on this channel that isn't Ryan and Shane. Their fans are insufferable.

One part that you missed was the point under hypnosis Betty was able to report a star map that years later was founded. Just an interesting point to this.

My theory: They were drugged, abducted (by humans) and assaulted. Their memory loss is similar to the sort of memory loss from being roofied. Barney and Betty were a bi-racial couple during a period of time where, even in the north, some people took great offence at "such things" (which sucks)--this makes it more likely that they could have been a target of racists. Then, later, their hypnosis brought out those other details as "memories". I know I frequently "remember" things that were actually TV shows, etc., and that's when I'm completely conscious. Memory is not infallible, as we now know. I think they DID suffer something that night, and, frankly, the alien theory was more comforting for them than the likely alternative. Over time, they'd believe those memories real, just as the "recovered memory" accusers (the people who accused their own parents, falsely, of abuse because of shonky psychiatrists and badly-phrased hypnosis) did.
Also, I think the hallucinations from tainted food is also from the ergot fungus, which was quite commonly found in wheat in the 60s (and is not destroyed by cooking).

I honestly tried to give this a fair shot. But it feels like buzzfeed is trying too hard to replace Ryan and Shane with their current most popular buzzfeed stars, hoping that it will work. Sadly, it misses the mark. No hate to Aria and Merle here. I think they need to revamp it somehow rather than making it buzzfeed unsolved version 2.0. Trying to replicate the camaraderie between Ryan and Shane is not the way to go.

It's funny how Buzzfeed thinks we care to see anyone else who isn't shane or ryan. These people are okay but don't compare at all.

When someone experiences a traumatic event (traffic accident, attack, bad trip) the brain tries to fill in gaps that might have been caused by trauma and can take memories (of a tv show they watched recently, or a movie) and apply those with the memories the brain has of that incident. They don't think they're lying, to them it was entirely real, but it might have just been their brain trying to make sense of whatever did happen to them. Aliens exist, I just don't think they're visiting our lame asses.

To add to the Ryan and Shane comments. Ryan and Shane have left buzzfeed to start their own channel with Steven Lin, called "wearewatcher". If you want to see them head to their channel and support them. However they will be back to do buzzfeed unsolved cases and supernatural, Steven lin will continue to do Worthit. Due to Covid they have not been able to film supernatural, so patience everyone. This channel has to continue its content so it has be filled in by other people.

Its sad to see so many people so quickly uninterested because shane and ryan arent in this video, I personally like that theu are showcasing more creators on this channel and hope people would be more open minded about it. I think one issue in this video that made people bored and uninterested is that it took 3 minutes for them to actually get into their investigation, that's something that could have been done differently to hook people in better. The 3 minute introduction almost made me turn away from the video because I didn't know when they would finally dive into the videos topic. Please feel free to agree or disagree with me on thia comment.

The more upsetting theory of this story is that the stress of being an interracial couple lead to them hallucinating the whole thing! Lies or truth that idea is awful

I can't believe you left out the most important element of that case. The map drawn by Betty under hypnosis showing the supposed route to Earth that she saw on the ship... from stars who had not been discovered yet. When they were, decades later, from one planet orbiting one of these stars, the exact same map was discovered. Look it up!

Please hold back from all the hate. I understand that Ryan and Shane were the people who popularized and absolutely was the reason behind the making of the Buzzfeed Unsolved Network. But, this doesn't excuse the fact that you guys are just throwing hate on these people just beacuse they are not "Ryan and Shane". This is their job. They put effort into these things and I don't think they deserve this hate.

Ya know, buzzfeed unsolved started with Ryan and Shane and that was the only reason I subscribed to this channel. Now buzzfeed is pulling all these other people into it and I just have a hard time watching it now. Does anyone else feel the same?

They didn’t mention that Betty Hill recounted the star system which the beings claimed to come from, she remembered a perfect picture and reproduced it on paper. It was later identified to be the zeta reticuli 1 system.

This was the only BuzzFeed channel I felt was worthy to subscribe to.. and it was mainly because of Shane and Ryan.. oh well.. bye.
