He survived several attempts on his life because it wasn't his time. And he didn't survive arsenic laced cakes, Felix Yusupovs cohort did not lace the cakes. This is probably propaganda. In spite of his sins regarding sexual matters and vices, he was ultimately good.

He knew to not give the hemophiliac aspirin, unlike his other doctors. And he calmed the boy and his mother, which in turn, lessened the symptoms of the disease

Rasputin as word has come to mean a manipulative, dangerous, charismatic man who cannot be trusted. But that's due to Grigory Rasputin himself, not the surname's Russian meaning. A good video otherwise, just got the cart before the horse there.

from the mystery book of 'mysteries of the
    unexplained', rasputin's mesmerizing eyes,
a key to his power, were once described by
prince felix yusupov, who later claimed to
be the monk's murderer: 'his eyes shone
before me like a kind of phosphorescent
light. from rasputin's eyes came two rays
that flowed into each other and merged
into a glowing circle, i was gradually fallin'
into the power of this mysterious man'.

I'm in my 30's, have heard the song titled Rasputin played endlessly since childhood, and somehow, only looked up the lyrics today. I'm like, what? This is about a real person?! And some google searches lead me to this video. Wow. I've seen stuff like this in Korean period dramas, the confidant of the royalty will attract the jealousy of the court, and those court people will conspire to eliminate that one person. Like Daniel in the Bible, where the king's court set a trap to have Daniel thrown into the lion's den. Politics and power play then and now. Sigh* Thank you, Dominique Dibbell, for a thorough storytelling. Much appreciated. ❤

Very good. In Andrew Cook's book, it is mentioned that he was shot 3 times and that the bullets were of different calibres. The two shots to the body were fired at close range and the shot to the forehead was even closer and while he was lying down. The bullet wound to the forehead is also a lot larger and suggests it was a .455 bullet like the ones used in Webley revolvers which were issued to the British soldiers. In fact there is a good chance that the British were involved in the murder. Several officers were stationed in Petrograd and Oswald Rayner who was part of the secret service, in his later years confessed to being in the palace on the night of the murder. A message was also sent back to Britain stating along the lines that "Dark forces" had been taken care of. Dark forces being a codeword for Rasputin. The reason for the British involvement could well be that they feared Russia who were allies in the war might seek a seperate peace with Germany which would be devastating for Britain as Germany would no longer have to fight a war on both fronts (East and West) and could instead send all their soldiers west.
It is not conclusive proof, but what is true is that Oswald Rayner and others were in Petrograd at the time, messages were sent to Britain, Rayner did confess to playing a role or at least being there and the bullet wound matches that of a Webley which was a British issue firearm.
It's also strange that gunshots were heard at 2:30 a.m, the police visited the palace and were told of the murder, then at around 6 in the morning more gunshots were heard in the courtyard. 3 and a half hours is a long time to survive a shot to the liver which should have killed him in 20 minutes.
