The Urbz: Sims in the City is a video game for the Game Boy Advance, GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Nintendo DS. It is the third Sims game for video game consoles and is the second Sims game not to be released on Microsoft Windows; after a planned PC port and sequel were both cancelled due to mediocre sales. The next release for consoles and handhelds was the console port of The Sims 2. For the console versions of the game, music group The Black Eyed Peas provided several music scores which were translated into Simlish; they also appeared as guest Urbz in the game.

But then again, it's been 6 years
The weirdness of The Sims series (especially of the earlier games before EA fully consumed Maxis) colliding with Kevin's natural chaotic nature always makes for peak viewing.
Urbz was my favorite game as a kid lmao. The only things I played on my PS2 was Urbz and Tony Hawk Underground (1 and 2). I liked skating as Shrek ๐

I recently replayed this game to fulfill all my childhood dreams of reaching the penthouse, which I did, but there were 2 things that stuck out to me. 1} The pets have no purpose other than to piss on your floor and there's literally nothing you can do to stop them and 2) The Black Eyed Peas love being tickled.
3.) the black eyed peas made an amazing album for the game ๐ญ
That's hilarious. I wanna re-play this game so bad but I don't have any of the consoles required. I'd do a backflip if they released a version for the Switch, though.
@@alyssaapoc you might be able to find an emulator and rom that you can run the game with! I was able to find a game file and emulated it on the Steam Deck but there are ways to do it on PC as well.

Urbz will always have a soft spot in my heart. I remember asking my family for "Urbz" for Christmas and they all got upset asking why I need herbs (le mary jane) for and how I even know what that was. I was like, what are you talking about? I love the Sims? They were like oh, OHHHH. Ok.
lol not really related but my mom once went into a gamestop and asked for "call of duty: war of worldcraft for the Xstation 2" and they legit laughed her out of the store. she never left me at home when she bought me a game again.

@@cassanateli haha well I was 8/9 and my family was aware of "Herbs" from a young age due to family and neighborhood, grew up in the ghettoish part of Oakland (like personally it wasn't bad but heard drive bys like multiple times a week), they did their best to shelter me from that lifestyle so it's reasonable they'd be upset to me ahaha.
I've never heard anyone call weed "herbs" and that's HILARIOUS but also wow I never would've jumped to that conclusion XD

Hey Kevin, most of the "Elephunk" album from BEP was put into the Urbz with simslish versions of the songs, that's why the soundtrack is soo good.
I never played Urbz, but the nostalgia for me here was being reminded that Sims used to hold newspapers over their heads when it rained lol great video, I always love your content!

I got this game for the PS2 at a Gamestop while on a school trip to Washington DC. The trip was shit, but going home and playing this game while eating an obscenely large jawbreaker I also got in DC was a peak childhood memory.

I would have loved to be a fly on the wall in that board room when they came up with the idea of this fever dream.
This one felt like a fever dream, partly because I could only play it when I was home sick from school, but also because it was one we rented from a DVD store

I put way too much hours grinding at the jobs in this game. ๐๐๐ I loved all the districts, they all had such different styles.

The grip this game had on me ๐ the ds version was even weirder with an evil landlord and a secret bayou casino and all sorts
I loved the Nintendo DS version as a kid, it had such a nice vibe and storyline to it

You probably know this already, but if you sit on a chair It brings up your energy. You donโt need to sleep in a bed. Itโs supposed to be specific chairs though. Not all chairs work.

Lmao omg, Kevin this is my all time favorite sims game ever out of all the franchises. I have so many memories laughing so hard, customizing super stylish outfits, bizarre glitches, and just making up stories while interacting with other urbz lol even the soundtrack of this game goes hard. The edgy aspect of it is just so good and the depiction of the districts is really well done and hilarious. Wish there was a remake or another new sims game like this!

I've loved this game since I was a kid; it's a chaotic, fever dream of a socialization-based rpg masquerading as a life sim and I love it (besides the routing issues.)
Two fun facts about it:
-Apparently this was the first Sims game with weather.
-In the GameCube ver of the game, Blankwood Towers comes with a GameCube-themed wardrobe.

i grew up playing this game for the gameboy, same exact title, WILDLY different game. i didnโt know about this version until my husband & i were discussing how we both played the game growing up but had none of the same memories. iโm still confused why they released the same title on different platforms but the games were different.
