Along with the Brick Piece, there's also the Gold Leaf and Silver Leaf that are only got by transferring specific Pokemon from Gen 1 to Gen 2. Those really messed with my head as a kid! I was totally convinced that if I got enough of them and brought them to the shrine in Ilex Forest I would be able to battle Celebi.

Just have a compoundeyes ability Pokémon like Butterfree or Yanma in the front of your party. It increases the chances of a Pokémon holding an item based on its tier. For 5% chance held items, compoundeyes increases that to 20%. Got 6 Lucky Eggs in my Heartgold game that way.

The Lucky Egg is also available as the reward for the final side quest in the postgame of Gale of Darkness. Kelpsy berries are the lowest tier of berries that will work for evolving a Feebas in RSE. You'll need twelve of them, for what it's worth. You can find a batch of six Kelpsy berries north of Rustboro City after getting Surf, although they're the only native Kelpsy berries in the game (without help from the Berry Master's Wife), so make sure to get more than twelve before you go to evolve your Feebas, especially in Emerald.

IIRC there was something with machop's code so it would always be holding an unprogrammed item, the brick piece was added to replace it as a quick fix.

Don’t forget, there was a bountiful harvest event in Sword and Shield back in November. For beating Dynamax Squovet and Greedant you got a massive reward of EV berries, stat raising berries, and event berries.

Actually chansey has a 5% chance of holding a lucky egg in fire red and leaf green. You can also get one through a side quest in Pokemon XD. Still convoluted and annoying though 😅

yeah but the sidequest is a bitch and a half and even among players who've got xd, it's unlikely you're going to have the patience to grind your team 10-15 levels to fight in a bunch of competitively trained pokemon stadium matches to even have a chance to complete the segment.

Man, I remember being so confused as a kid playing Platinum, I played the contests a lot and loved dressing my 'mons up, and there was a shop in Floaroma where you could buy more accessories with berries, but some cost so damn many and were kinds of berries I'd never heard of before and had no idea how to even get, like the Spelon and Belue berries, part of me thought they'd put those in as unbuyable items just to screw with you. Drove me nuts!

Also instead of going crazy trying to find Lucky Egg Chansey in FR/LG, in Gen 3 you can receive a Lucky Egg in Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness if you beat the 1st round of the Orre Colosseum and return to Eagun's wife in Agate Village. Doesn't make it any less rare cause you not only need to battle the hardest colosseum in the game, but you would also have to have the game itself and a transfer cable to get it to the mainline. But at least it is a guaranteed Lucky Egg once you've managed all of this.

My husband arrived to the mirrage island when he was a kid .. the first time. Checked the islan... A berry and whynauts. Picked the berry and be. His brother noticed it later, and they tried so hard to recreate the event (which pokemons had, with who talked before, how many items, it had to be the first time...) They started a bunch of urban legends trying to arrive to the islan anew.

I didn't even know about the shed shell in Gen 7. As I found the razor claw to evolve Sneasel in Gen 7 to be the hardest evolutionary item to obtain in Sun and Moon (excluding Ultra) In fact I spent 2 weeks looking for that item and found a shiny Lycanroc before I found any Pokemon from the Jangmo-o line holding a razor claw.
