DO YOU WANT ME TO MAKE ANOTHER VIDEO about the abbreviations in NOTAMS and COCKPIT INSTURMENTS? Please like the video and comment "YES" below this comment! Thanks!
Yesssssssssss. Why not Sirππ
Yessirrr
Yes
Definitely yes sir
MAKE ONE RIGHT NOW
I like those explanations like "when you get wet, but it isn't really raining", because this way I understand words like "drizzle" too
Same, I was like "what is drizzle? I've never heard it before" than he explains it and me "ahhh that's 'Niesel(regen)' in german" and now for somehow they sound a bit similar to me xD
"When you get wet, but it isn't really raining". That's what she said....
@@vinctendo_tv ging mir genauso :')
drizzle is when the raindrops/droplets are below 0.5mm in diameter
rain is when the raindrops are more than 0.5mm in diameter
I call it misting but drizzle works to
Spotted a Cargolux on fr24 passing over me
Immediately start screaming: That's Captain Joe
Same, everytime when I spotted an A380 and B747 flying above me, I'm gonna screaming
*PILOT ALEXANDER AND CAPTAIN JOE!!!*
Lol.
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Gage Preston instablaster =)
@Tristian Jaden thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now.
Takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

PO comes from the french word "poudre" (dust). Just like BR for mist (brouillard) and GR for hail (grΓͺle).
poudre means powder
Negative. PO comes from the French word βpoussiΓ¨reβ meaning dust. Yes, BR is mist, (brume) rather than brouillard, FG, which is fog. It can be confusing as some abbreviations come from French words and some from English.
Waaa bravo tβas utilisΓ© un accent! En tout cas, je te fΓ©licite
rumor has it that Joe will heart this comment.
The madlad
Congrats
If you're reading this comment, then I hope you will stay safe, healthy and are bunkered down. You're a great person, and we will ALL get through this, have a superb day. And happy Thursday.
SamKad we appreciate ppl like you thanks for being such a great being πβΊοΈ some ppl just need kind words from someone :)
pretty gone now (the virus)
I quite like this format! It's like a gameshow, so instead of just having the information given to you, you have a few moments to guess and it makes you more likely to remember!
Love how u used a shot from the new microsoft flight simulator when talking about ICG
Noticed that too, sneaky :D
I noticed that too! Could recognize that TBM shot anyday
Matt haha yea
Well spotted!!
I will loop watch at this video say 1 million times so that I can remember them for my license π
I completed a course for a professional drone pilot couple of years ago, and we were learning how to read TAF and METAR, the ones that will relate to flying a drone, and I was surprised myself how many I actually remembered. I didn't guessed about 6-7 here that I've never came across before like CAT, IGS, HUREP, WSR. That was a great video Joe!
Stay safe.
Valio keys They seem to be using multiple abbreviations for the same thing. I have never seen SNW in a METAR or TAF for example. It's more common to see just SN. For me, the abbreviation of gusts is not GSTS but only G. If saw GSTS I would rather say Gresil and Thunderstorm...
As a pilot, whoever asks me how to prepare themselves for cadet program interviews, I highly recommend them to watch ALL of your aviation videos. If I were the man in the interviews, I would prepare my questions from your videos. They are all good and easy to understand for nonaviatiors. Keep up the good work!
captain joe you dont know what your doing is helping me a lot, I'm doing flight school in a few months and you help me and motivate me to go their and achieve my goal
thank god u posted, boredomβs killing me pretty bad..

Iβm a captain in an airline with more than 9000 h and I watch all your videos! The way you explain is better than any book available in the market! Thank you my friend
Thanks for the video Joe.
I knowed a few of them so a lot of learning to go!
Thanks Joe!
I am an ATC from Tashkent Int. (UTTT), and I always with pleasure like to watching your videos! And although I know all abbreviations too!!! And I already looking forward to delivery of your awesome "red before flight tag")))
Mehti Ahmedov Oh wow, Iβve probably had you on ATC then! I fly over Tashkent quite regularly
@@flywithcaptainjoe Oh that's great! I am the only one controller who tells to pilots "Sir", like: "Goodmorning Sir Tashkent Control Identified;)
Hope you & yours are safe, healthy, & flying high when possible.

Of course we want another video about this content it's so amazing, I'm a commercial pilot and those abbreviations are very common in every flight, don't forget to add NOSIG, no significant changes in the next 2 hours, I think is one of my fav. Big hug from Argentina Captain! Cheers!
Awesome video I was looking to get into weather and that helps a lot! Thank you

Thank you for sharing these common abbreviation used daily in aviation!
I like your remove before flight key tag Captain Joe!
11:00 that's Trieste in Italy, it's where I live. Thank you for the informative videos, I'm not a pilot nor related to the aviation world in any way, but it's a world that interests me and you are always very informative in an easy way to understand. Thank you and stay safe out there in these crazy times.
Hi Captain Joe! The volcano I think you were talking about in Iceland that erupted in 2010 is called: EyjafjallajΓΆkull
6:02 I see you've been following the new sim, Joe.
Greatly timed video just as I'm studying all my METAR's and TAF's at the moment, great video as always Joe!
Perfect! Just started my basic course to become an Air Traffic Controller in Vienna... Thanks for the great timing ^^
You teach very well, more than mine flight schoolπ
Hey Joe are you carrying those keychains in your 747 as CARGOπ π
Pure inspiration... Thank you so much Captain Joe
I just love you. I really do. Thanks you so much for everything you're doing in your channel, it really helps me to understand a lot of aviation's concepts, and I really hope you will keep doing stuffs like that :)
Wow, yes, I did it! I'm surprised that without mistake, cause I have got just PPL not ATPL yet.
1:02 was that Kennedy Steve in your intro??
Yes
No!
Captain Joe really? Really sounded like it
That ATC does work at JFK. He's Kennedy Steve's polar opposite Kennedy Jack. Think good cop Bad cop. There are MULTIPLE videos of that dude being rude to pilots.
Got all of them. Tks for the refresher.
Love the video Joe! Keep up the good work
Joseph what's a compressor stall?
Love these type of videos, keep going!
Great to know someone who shares his expertise. Thx Joe
An experienced cargo pilot
Captain Joe, you have no idea how much you have helped me with little things abt planes so I can actually keep up a convo with my brother (heβs a pilot) and his collegues
Hey joe love from India....β€β€
I'm gonna be honest I only knew about 15 of those
-that's a shame
Hello colleague, excellent video for those enthusiast and BCMG pilots. I knew all the abbreviations and as an A320 Fam type rated pilot I have crossed with each one you have mentioned. Good flights!
I really love my captain joe, I now have a knowledge of at least quarter of what I will be taught in flight school before I have even joined, this is amazing
5:16 HEART BROKEN :/
#rip
I had to laugh at the endπ
Mr Wonder That was the ideaπ
Thank you very much Captain for the video. Much appreciated!!ππ€
Thank you. I am not a pilot but keen on aviation. These explanations are so informative and interesting.
I LOVE THAT AVIATION IS ORGANIZED AND STRICT, REALLY LOVE THAT, from that we are responsible.
I was told in flight school (Canada) that CAVOK means CEILING and Visiblility OK instead of Clouds and Visibility OK. Is it right?
Here in Brazil too, I learned that CAVOK means Ceiling and visibility ok
The Best Parcomètre True it can vary a little from country to country
So did I in Sweden. I was a glider pilot, so perhaps the term "ceiling" is more important to us, since we most of the time just fly up to the cloud base (VFR with no vertical cloud cleareance but ground visibility). ;) CAVOK is however not a good weather for flying gliders, we most of the time want 3-4 octas cumulus, with a high cloud base.
@@robhobsweden Well, no ceiling without clouds. I learned also "clouds and visibility OK" as meteorologist in Germany, but "ceiling" is more precise as there might be thick high level clouds even with CAVOK. Do you know, that our forecasting models are currently degrading due to lack of aircraft measurements (AMDAR/AIREP/TAMDAR)? So we are missing you pilots, crews and ground. We try to compensate by additional weather balloons and other quick measures, but it is not equivalent to 10000s of aircraft reports.
you speak and explain very clear Captain
Not to deify or patronize............ It's not in my DNA. But It's SO refreshing to catch you these days. Thank you. Take care!
I don't remember what crash it was, but a while back the US NTSB made a post-investigation recommendation to overhaul the METAR systym. When the system was introduced, it took time (and money) to send individual characters, so a format was devised to compress a full report into as small a package as possible. Now a days, you can look at any teen girl's text message history and see that LARGE amounts of text can be sent quickly, easily and cheaply. its time to go to plain language METARs!!!
This Quarantine Can't Allow Me To Know My Weather.
Thanks for this information mr joe. I am not related to aviation in any way but love your videos and try to watch them as soon as I can . Really appreciate your efforts sir.
Becoming a cargo pilot about a year or so ago is probably the best thing that ever happened to you considering the commercial airline industry is in very tough times now.
Great Refresher Capt ...
Love all your Vids.
Would love to have it in my flight bag.
Happy Landings and Silver Linings Always.
Even though all these abbreviations come from ICAO we can still spot some discrepancies between Europe and US!! Never heard of CAVOK here but when I check TAF for my country I could see it. Now I got it. -FZRAPLBR?!?!? Light freezing rain, ice pellets, mist. $ maintenance is needed on the system hence the dollar sign π
Good descriptive information Joe!!
I'm sure you have come across this acronym... HLB..... Helicopter Load Bag.... used to use these in the fire service when we were on maritime emergency response.... sadly there were suspended four years ago.......
Yes please and thank you for all you do, you are an excellent teacher and very interesting to learn from
Thank you captain Joe,itβs really helpful .Every weather briefing class i feel so tough. But now i can understand those abbreviations.ππ
Amazing Video Joe.! ALL of them were familier :) Looking forward for the next one !
Great video Joe. Made my morning.
Very easy to understand, however very condensed information. Thanks for your outstanding devotion for aviation. Cheers from Newfoundland.
Always after watching your videos , I say to my self I don't feel that I want to sleep tonight , I am excited to learn for hours .
Thanks Joe , you are the best
Thanks joe for the weather explanation, i hope it useful for me
Captain Joe,
Thank you for your videos.
I hope you and your family and friends are well.
Cheers,
Rik Spector
A great video and one where I did know all the abbreviations. But then I should, I teach it at work. Lol. Also a couple missed which always get the pulse racing. Tcu and CB. Towering cumulus and cumulonimbus.
Hello Captain Joe. I know all the Weather Abbreviations. You make great videos. Please make more like these. Thank you.
This is a great list/refresher. When I did my check flight in January, my tester told me I can fly excellent l, but I knew crap about the weather during thr oral. He wasn't far off. :)
Well done Captain Joe! I like watching your videos keep them coming πππͺ Greetings from LMML
I knew most of them. And I even recognized the airport, you used the image of, for SKC as CYPK in beautiful British Columbia.
Thanks for your upload!
Yes Captain, waiting for ANOTHER VIDEO!
Thank you Captain ππ»
thank You Joe Great idea!
Love your videos Joe! I remember only ATIS from before when I was using a sim ;)
Great video Cap!
Hi ! I love your channel : Especially because all your subjects are easy to understand for someone like me who knows nothing about Airplanes - But I learn a lot with all your videos, and now I'm more confident when I travel (lol) ! Have a nice day, stay safe and thanks for all :)
Great vΓdeo, thank you!!
Thanks so much , great video.

Hello Joe a big thank you and all at cargolux for keeping the cargo flying there's a lot of cargo aircraft big and small doing there bit to keep us all stocked up I'm a firefighter and yesterday when I got home me and my daughter went in the garden to watch the planes flyover and see a b747-8
Cargolux at about 38000feet just beautiful βπ
Great video, Joe - I used it this evening with our RAF Air Cadets squadron this evening helping them decode METARs :)
Really good content - Sound and picture need some optimization, it was perfect a year ago - what changed?
Hi Captain Joe,
I appreciate your videos and I am a big fan of your work.
I'm the head of the luxembourgish meteorical service at ELLX and even if I knew all the abbreviations, it was a pleasure to watch your video.
You explained all the abbreviations correctly but BECMG in TAF messages does not mean that the phenomenon will occur in that time frame, but that it will *change* to the significant weather *during* this timeframe. I'm sure that You are aware of that, because you explained it right at the beginning and then at the and you said "...the expected weather condition in that time frame".
The next time you are at ELLX, you are welcome to visit us at our office and have coffee.
Keep up the good work π
Another great video thank you. Very useful video. π
I Downloaded them! I'm still youngish, but soon going to flight school! Thanks for helping me!
Happy to see the TAF example was from JomoKenyatta international airport
Thank you will definitely help me with my ATPL course
Excellent job β€
It was good to watch this video even with only listening to the long forms of the letters Joe said
Hi CaptainJoe ! First comment for me here even if Iβve been following you for a long time. Iβm now an ATPL student, just finished phase 1 and just done the mocks. Waiting for the Easaβs and then off to fly! Thanks for your videos they gave me a lot of motivation before starting this career (I was a manager ) and now that Iβm in training.
Of course I knew all the abbreviations, but thatβs normal as I just studied them for my exams π there was just a couple I havenβt heard of but I had a good guess and got them right π thanks for your videos again, I love watching at them. Please stay safe. Hope to you see you in the skies one day !
I canβt wait to roll my bag around my flight school with my new tag!
Great video ! Your content is awesome and very interesting π
I love night flight, cause it feels chilled
Thank you so much
This isn't aviation specific, but WX is the abreviation for weather. One of my favorites to use.
Hello! Your awesome, could you please do videos for those in school that aspire to be like you? Thanks for your videos your amazing
