Dear friends and followers, welcome back to my channel!
Today we'll be looking at the Corona Virus and it's effect on the aviation industry!
It's been the worst time for aviation since the SARS outbreak in 2003 and the attacks on the world trade center in 2001.
The most obvious and immediate public reaction when there is a global emergency such as this, is to stop or postpone any planes to fly to the country or city of origin, in this case Wuhan, China. The demand for flights to the country fell, forcing airlines worldwide to reduce the number of flights to and from China. With this, along with the likes of social media and news outlets further adding fuel to the fire when it comes to people worrying, stock markets in the Asian continent dropped with shares of Chinaโs three largest airlines - Air China, China Eastern Airlines and China Southern Airlines all showing similar levels of decline.
At the start of February alone the Chinese financial market fell by 8% as fears grow about the financial impact that this virus could continue to have. Since the outbreak, these issues have been ever present with more and more airlines even suspending all travel to and from the country.

I have seen criticism about the flight crew of different airlines, (some of the criticism even from me) on a day-to-day travel, but, it is probably the same set of flight crew willing to sacrifice their personal life to go on rescue. I definitely will remember that every time when I get on a plane and learn to look at things in a different perspective.

Any thing in the hull between the pressure bulkheads will be pressurized. Even in most cargo only aircraft. Exceptions are limited, example is the 747 Dreamlifter.
Well, at least they had more head room than they will probably ever have on a "commercial" flight... lol, doh.

I've been a nurse for 20+years. I've been in contact and nursed patients with many different infectious diseases. Precaution and education is the best course of action.

He'll pronounce some words in a strange way, effectively reminding me that he's not a native speaker (like "Southern", in this case). I don't believe it's the lack of money through demonetization that will affect Captain Joe, it will be the exposure. videos that do not make money, don't make KRplus money, meaning they will promote the video a lot less.

@@thebeeskneesnaturalsoapco.2674 We say it here in the UK, it means your as healthy as a dog owned by a butcher, in other words the dog is well fed because his owner has lots of meat on offer being a butcher. The dog gets all the bones and off cuts for example, a well fed dog is a fit healthy dog, hence fit as a butchers dog.

Edit: they are touching down... It was the innermost wheels I saw touching down second. The two wheels of the right gear are hidden behind the turbine. Everything is fine >_

One of those rescue flights coming to California was supposed to land at Ontario Airport (ONT) but the public found out complained and the flight ended up going to March Air Reserve Base. The passengers were quarantined on the base. I live about 5 miles from ONT. I do contract work and some of my friends whom travel for work have told me they are not allowed to go to China until further notice.

What I want to know is whether the Aircon system on a plane can transfer the virus.
the problem is not airconditioning, is the natural spray from the other passengers, Virus can resist up to 6 hours one time sprayed on the surfaces, but the most dangerous thing is the direct spray mouth to nose or mouth to mouth, even breathing naturally, AC help to kill the Virus because the air coming from the secon stage of the compressor, coming from outside and very hot, the complete air revolving ( 80 % )in a plane reachble in less than 3 minutes

Just a short note. The Qantas rescue flight QF6032 (Boeing 747-438) did not go direct to Christmas Island, as the runway is to short, it went to Learmonth Airport at Exmouth. From there the PAX were put on two charter flights to Christmas Island.

You are being over-ambitious with the tones. Believe me, getting non-Chinese people to even do a non-tonal pronunciation of "Huawei" and "Xiaomi" is nearly impossible. I know better, I actually tried that :D. Probably Woo-HAN! is a better phonetic spelling, or dunno, WOOooOO-HAN! ? But that's just confusing.

The Qantas Flight went from Wuhan to an army airstrip near Darwin in Australia. The people were transferred to smaller aircraft to go to The Christmas Island because 747's can't land there due to short runway.

Good observation, I'd like to know what's that about.
Its just the camera angle.
I believe you think that's the wing gear of the 747. But the 747's gear is tilted the other way round. What you think is the lowest and front part of the wing gear is the rear tire of the wing, whilst the tire you think is the highest and most rear tire of the wing gear is in fact the bodygear. If you see closely(Althought the camera and blackened asphalt makes it hard) you can see the wing gear just behind the engine touching down.
Watched the video again on a larger screen to see what's up there. The two wheels we see look like one bogie which is tilted forwards. These are actually the two rear wheels of both the wing and the center gear. For the center gear the front wheel is covered by the wing gear. For the wing gear the front wheel is hidden in the shadow of the engine. Once you defeat that optical illusion, everything is right.
I rewound that bit about 5 times (6.37) even the engine cover looks like it coming off, Captain Joe whats going on in this Kalitta Air clip ?

Hi, airline ground crew worker here. My main concern is about RON flight crews. I work at a small station, and we donโt have a cleaning team. So we had to still get on these flights, some of them from cities with confirmed cases of the virus, with absolutely NO protective gear. Yes, pilots are taking a huge risk, and I am grateful to them for that, but ground crew, including cleaning agents, RON agents, baggage handlers, gate and ticket agents, are also at a huge risk. Maybe itโs different at bigger stations, but I just feel like mine isnโt taking it very seriously. Yes I did reach out to my union, no they didnโt help. Itโs just really disheartening. I love my job, but for what I make an hour I wish we had a little more care being given to us.
