Feyre (RIGHTFULLY) leaving tamlin, getting together with his nemesis, ruining his court and live, and getting his bestie in the divorce is peak unaknowleded comedy

itβs a bit annoying when people say βwhy didnβt they just talkβ even though they have the same issues in their life and likeβ¦ a ridiculous amount of history wouldnβt have happened if humans could just freaking set their pride aside and chat
β@catdownthestreet That's true for the most part, but my jaw honestly dropped at the Tarquin situation. The way they discover that Elain is a fucking SEER, and thatβs that. Why they donβt help her to use her abilities?
The girl, although being in her catatonic state, grieving for the life that it was taken from her, tried to help somehow. With her visions, the idea to talk with Graysen to ensure shelter for the humans, with the Suriel, like how she managed to find him trough the world?!
They only super protect her and donβt gives her a chance. They send her as far away from the battlefield as possible, only to have to winnow and stab Hybern.
They tell Nephelle's story, that what we think is our weakness can be our greatest strength, and that the least likely person can save the day, but they totally ignore Elain.

I love how thoroughly Feyre crumbles the spring court. So the solstice thing, basically Ianthe wanted her moment in the sun (literally) and marked the spot for her to stand to make it look like the sun was rising in her hands she had raised above her head. Very dramatic, the theatrics with her. All Feyre had to do was move the rock a few feet over with some wind power and boom, now the first light of the sun is on herself. She chose a white dress she looks holy almost. She also managed to have the only person next to her be Lucian, so that is the initial spark of Tammy boy feeling all wtf about her and Lucian. It's diabolical and I love it. π
And used Helion's power to glow when the sun passed over her
Kinda spoiled by the fact she committed a war crime and probably caused a refugee crisis in summer all while an outside force is trying to invade. Smooth brain move overall.

Ok but the way Feyre manipulated the blessing during summer solstice to hurt Ianthe as GOLD. The close up of Maurice with the pirates of the Caribbean theme killed me π
That part legitimately made me laugh out loud
feyre in her kevin mcallister era in the spring court is probably my favorite part of these books
Nesta is my favorite character. I wanna hug her, laugh at her, slap her, cry for her and just read her actions. She is entertaining and makes me feel, which is the biggest compliment I can give a character.
I started hating her, then just disliked her. By the time I got to this book she started growing on me. But by Silver Flames, mannnnnnnnnnnβ¦ Nesta is the character I relate to the most. She isnβt perfect at all, she has a lot of problems with how she expresses her feelings, a lot of trauma. She seems the most human tbh. Reading her book was a whole experience for me and got me through a heavy depressive stage of my life. I have a special place for Nesta in my heart and Iβm not afraid to say Iβm a Nesta apologist, she deserves the world and people should cut her some slack.
@@natnesta Silver Flames was my favorite for that reason! She was so relatable because of my own recent journey of healing from the death of a parent and other trauma.

Yes Cari, bringing us the PG-13 version of Sarah J. Maas books as always and I love it! On a side note, I know this is how far you want to go with this series, but like, I would love if this ending leads to the beginning of a Throne of Glass series explanation, because I need that filter on that series. Little tid bit for Cari and everyone - when Amren says, βWhen I am free, donβt run. It will attract my attention.β That is 100% a reference to Peter S. Beagleβs novel βThe Last Unicorn.β The unicorn says a similar line to Schmendrick the Magician (you wonβt have heard of him) after they have freed a harpy (along with a bunch of non-magical creatures) from Mommy Fortunaβs Midnight Carnival and are trying to escape.
βYou must never run from anything immortal. It attracts their attention.β
In the book, the unicorn, an immortal herself, is transformed into a human by a spell, and her love story is eventually thwarted by the need for her to transform back into her true form. I love that Amren is basically a dark, gothic love letter to that story. Maybe???
Ok thatβs all! I love these vids! Thank you for making them!

Tbh, Tamlin was wrong but also man's was cheated on and *betrayed* by his fiance. The way this author is just treating him like a punching bag is *wild* I feel so bad for this character.
Iβm not Team Tammy at all but I definitely feel bad for him too :( i hope sarah gives him happiness in future books
FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT. I couldnβt finish the series because of this.
The internet had me thinking he was going to be like Ike Turner and just beat Feyre daily!!!
πlol
This man actually believed his enemy stole his bride. His fiancΓ©e literally never listens and everyone was after her. He made her stay in a mega mansion until he got back and she in return is dragging him & ruining his existence-
It wasnβt eye for eye; it was eye for Feyre taking his right hand (Lucien), legs (sentries), and everything under that! Punching bag forever ππ
I understand your criticism and I think thereβs some merit to painting Feyre as someone who can do no wrong (which SJM does a bit of with her main characters) HOWEVER, Feyre started out as a character who sacrificed EVERYTHING for her family. This series is about Feyre learning to fight for herself and her happiness. I donβt like the whole βgood grief my protagonist has morally grey areas this is terrible!β stance - especially with women - because there seems to be an inherit belief that women must take everything in stride with grace and I just think that perpetuates something unfair. Let female characters rage, let them be selfish and make mistakes. Itβs not like she gets off the hook totally - when Feyre gets the ouroboros it shows her that her true self IS monstrous (I know Cari didnβt cover it in this video but thatβs what happened) and Feyre faced that. SJM, on some level, is showing us that Feyre is not a perfect character and she has some unlikable qualities. That doesnβt mean that she doesnβt deserve to fight for her happiness, no matter the cost. (Also, what breakup is not messy? Tamlin and Feyre eventually reconcile, but I donβt fault SJM for making their fallout a bit ugly. I mean, it happens - heartbreak sucks. They both hurt each other. I think people painting it as βSJM just treats Tamlin like a punching bag because she likes Rhys betterβ is just not a good take. Tamlinβs fallout is very realistic for an abusive man irl, they will do ANYTHING to get the upper hand over their partners, and her writing in Tamlinβs redemption arc (with him helping Feyre bring back Rhys) is more than men like him will do in real life. Idk, I just think Tamlinβs character arc is reasonable, and Feyreβs treatment of him was not the best, no - but neither was Tamlinβs treatment of her. Itβs complicated, just like real life, and I appreciate that. Not every protagonist is a role model, a lot of people seem to struggle with viewer discretion. Yeah, Feyre has some faults and doesnβt make the kindest choices towards Tamlin. But he broke her heart and abused her, sheβs rightfully torn up and a little vengeful about it. However, they reached a point of forgiveness, and I, for one, enjoyed the messy journey it took to get there.
He was only βcheatedβ on bc he abused Feyra pretty severely/ignored her needs from the trauma she also experienced, which is bs considering what she did for him. Literally he also almost killed her. Experiencing trauma does NOT give someone any right to dump that on anyone else. Rhysand was far, far more traumatized than Tamlin was and he didnβt do anything of the sort to Feyra. So yeah fuck Tamlin. I think he needed to be treated like this *SMALL SPOILER ALERT* to apologize and start treating Feyra with respect again once he encounters her later.
Feyre's dad with the ships actually made me almost jump out of my seat
and then he just fuckingβ¦dies π

Okay okay okay. Am I getting this right? Our protagonist uses her intimate knowledge of her former partner's trauma and weaknesses in order to manipulate him into a further mental spiral and thereby defeat him. And she's... a good person for this?
Don't get me wrong, Tam Lin's arrogance and refusal to admit to a problem has made him an abusive person. But he seems to be more of a tragic anti-hero rather than an outright villain and driving him to further abuse isn't a good thing?? Didn't you love this man? Just because you're not 'in love' anymore doesn't mean you don't care about his well being anymore right? In another story this would be a cue toward wanting to save him from himself, or try and make him come back to the Light Side. Tam Lin has been absent a whole book, he's clearly not the main villain. Yes he's allying with the bad guy out of desperation and delusion but that does not make him irredeemable or deserving of this level of abuse?
What... am I missing something or? This sort of betrayal and manipulation could very well break someone and drive them to suicide I don't-
Yes he's done horrible things but so has Rhysand?
Yes bro!
Like all the while i was thinking that this is the same person you fucking LOVED! how could you manipulate him into being the bad guy...
I hated fayre so much for this...like for me Tamlin was a victim....of her .
Fucking burn my body and I'll still love you....like bulllshit.
Same brain. Still upset with how obvious it is that Rhysand showed up in Sarah's head and suddenly Tamlin had to be hated (as well as Lucien) as if they aren't kind of similar except that Rhysand is just...vocally more of a pos...
Neither of them are great, but the treatment Tamlin gets for trying is pretty bad.
Yes but you see feyre is a Good Person so everything she does is justified and if she treats someone poorly (or straight up kills them) it's because they Deserved It. While tamlin is, at least after book 1, a Bad Person so he must always be in the wrong, especially when it comes to anything to do with feyre and the night court folks.
@kaisea I love you!!! This is my point!!
Tamlin wasnβt right for Feyre ok good! Fine, she moved on.
But Tam didnβt get a patient healing person, just hardcore revenge!
Rhys was so patient with Feyre after she called him horrible names, consistently didnβt thank him for worshipping her in love, gifts, and status (not even an acknowledgment lol until chap 54)! Rhys continued to help her through her bad attitude and brat behavior bc of her trauma!
I canβt with Feyre guys.
Mor and Amren are my heroes and baddies
He was working with that evil king who kidnapped her sisters and threw them into the cauldron. And he did some shit to her in the beginning of ACOMAF too, I think she had every right to hate him.
Not me having to pause to cry when their dad shows up with an army and boats. I haven't even read these books I've just watched all your vids. I'm a sap!!!!
What is it about humans that it is so compelling to watch a person tell me a story for 3 hours while pointing at photos on her wall??
Hi Cari! I wanted to express my gratitude to you for this series! I wish I could give you more (Iβm but a humble barista), because this has not only given me hours of enjoyment, but also reignited my interest in the entire ACOTAR series. The way you convey the charactersβ dialogue to the audience is so genuine and each character has a unique voice. You did amazing with this series and I canβt wait to see more plot summary videos, if youβd like to keep making them. Thanks again for giving us a more accessible introduction to, imo, a very fun and emotionally thrilling fantasy!
honestly the whole miriam and drakon story basically being Moses parting the red sea and the book of breathings canonically being in hebrew/aramaic was one of the major things that really took me out of the story. same with the bone carver and weaver being siblings with an immortal death god from actual russian folklore. felt like sjm was running out of ideas and she could have just left this stuff out entirely instead. also rhys and feyre always being 10 steps ahead was cute and smart at first but it got tiring when they were CONSTANTLY ahead of the reader. anyway, love the recap!
like when they're all mystified by this ancient language in the book of breathing and amren is like.. "it hasn't been spoken in thousands of years" all spooky and amren-y and then she's calls it "lashon hakodesh" which is "the Holy Tongue" in hebrew and literally just what old torahs were written in. it just rly took me out of the "fantasy" world
It also doesnβt help that βIllyriaβ is quite literally just the ancient Greek name for Croatia and the Western Balkans
Yeah, and Amren is the Angel of Death who passes over the houses of the Hebrew who leave lamb's blood on their doorways. She says she is a 'messenger,' which translates literally in both Hebrew and Greek to 'angel,' and that she was an assassin for a wrathful God. She drinks blood, and lamb is her favorite. When she goes hunting through Velaris, people leave blood at their doors to propitiate her.
Calanmai is Beltane, the summer festival later on is Lughnasa, Miryam and Drakon live in Crete, everyone in northern isles mythology from King Arthur to Fionn mac Cumhaill is mentioned by myth in these stories. Look at the map. The story of the Harp being able to open doors to Other Places, and Angel of Death Amren, Koschei the Deathless Russian fairytale guy, Tarquin the High Lord of Summer with his Roman King name, Helion whose name is Greek for Sun, it's all meant to reflect our world. It's meant to be a place on the other side of the veil. It's meant to be faintly familiar. That's kind of the point.

Thank you so much for these! Please consider doing the rest of this series or The Red Queen series (after a much deserved mental breakπ)
I (21 M) have been binging these with my girlfriend. I have not read any of these books, but I can not put into words how much I enjoy these videos. I am far from your average viewer, but I can not emphasize how happy it would make me to get an acosof video. Just wanted to throw that out there.
Hope all is okay. β₯οΈ Thanks for making these.
I remember watching readwithcindyβs reviews of these books and being like damn never gonna read those but the fairy dick sounds wild- glad I got to experience more of the book series and understand a bit more of the actual plot organization through your videos. Youβve been keeping me company as a podcast during work and itβs been a wild ride, thank you!
Finally finished this godforsaken trilogy yesterday (this book in particular was a SLOG that had me taking many breaks between reading) and I think the only scene that gave me any true sense of emotion/sorrow was with the Suriel. SJM never produces any real sense of fear or tension cause everyone important survives these deadly injuries/literally comes back to life. But I really did tear up a bit at the surielβs death.
I've wanted to know more about ACOTAR since I've been seeing cosplays and stuff everywhere. When I tell you that this was the best and most entertaining way I could've possibly imagined experiencing this story, I am not exaggerating. I love these videos so much. Thank you for sharing. I would personally love if you did the other book (since I honestly was completely bamboozled by the plots of these ones and can only imagine what the other ones have in store and would love to hear about them), but if you do not want to I will not come to your house and hold you hostage or anything. I have honestly been pacing and ranting to my roommate every few minutes. "Her WEDDING DAY?? Her DAD?? SOUP??" It's been a wonderful experience (and I would never have read the super long smutty books so thank you again).
Why do I remember this series being longer than just a trilogy? I think I've gotta blame it on how damn long this last one is... but hey, congratulations on finally making it here!
there are other spin-offs of the main books!
Court of starlight is the fourth.
@@deusexmachina8984 I think those may have added to tricking my brain here too, lol. I did know about them, but for some reason I thought the main series had more! Might have just mixed them all together in my head
well technically there are 2 more books, A Court of Frost and Starlight as well as A Court of Silver Flames. ACOSF is more about Nesta and Cassian though. A Court Frost and Starlight is like the filler holliday episode in every anime.
Please do the rest of the series!!! Your video is an oasis whenever I have a bad day at work. I don't have enough time to read for leisure but you're making it possible!
Cari! As a fellow redhead and book lover these videos are an absolute treat. Thank you for all the work youβve put into these :)
Lucien: constant 3rd wheel
Even after finding his mate
Cari, I want to thank you so much for all you do, wither it's on this channel or your main channel, your videos have helped me so much over these last two years, either watching you explore Korea or finding great book inspiration and recommendations or watching this beautiful series of acotar or crescent city, I just want to say from the bottom of my heart thank you for providing a safe space for me to find joy and happiness in this crazy world
Thank you so much for these videos Cari! These videos have been the most delightful experience ever!!!
I had never read ACOTAR so I decided Iβd start, but what I did was read a few pages and then watch your recount of the events and it made me *squeal* even more as I worked through book1, book2 and nowβ¦book 3.
Thank you for taking the time to make these as they have been the absolute highlight of my life these past weeksβ¦please donβt stop before ACOSF!
"The Pirates Of The Caribbean" theme song with Maurice.π
These videos are absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for all the effort you put into making them!
oh my goodness?!!! thank you so much!
