Praise God!! I love this song ,and as a Newly Baptized Christian I love it even more actually. I've been a Christian for a long time. Never gotten Baptized ,and in my Sunday School Class the teacher did a lesson on being baptized. Next thing I know Carrie Underwood comes out with this song. Then they announce at Church they were Baptizing people on October 19,2014 If that wasn't the Lord trying to tell me something I don't know what it was. I'm glad I did it!! I feel like a different person!
Carrie Underwood always had a fantastic voice. What amazes me is that each song sounds better than the last. The message is positive, even if a person is not a Christian.
It can't get any better than this! I love how she opened up about her faith! Being saved by the love and the grace of God is the best thing we can do and being unashamed and spreading the love of Jesus Christ is what we need more of in the world that we live in today! Jesus is my hope and my joy and he is my everything he is the reason I sing and the reason I dance he is my anchor in the raging sea's and he knows my every need and every desire of my heart!

Im about to get baptized soon and I hope that theres something in the water to change me even more than I already have been! I love this song, it speaks true to the power of God!!
A few things. First, I am not religious, I do not care for it. I have NOTHING against anyone who is. It's your choice and I understand that. (I am not saying this in a negative way at all if that's possible)
Second, I LOVE her voice. I love her music. I enjoyed her stuff when she first won American Idol and fell for her even more when Blow Away came out (the first album I bought and then bought the other three after). This song is so good. Definitely a song I would stop and listen if it came on the radio.
Third, if anyone who is complaining about the religious aspect to this song likes Carrie Underwood, you would understand that it's not new. Her first single was Jesus Take the Wheel, you have to expect some of her faith to come out in her music! I just enjoy the song and the meaning behind it. One way to look at it, have faith in something whether it be yourself or god and you'd be surprised at how much stronger you are.
Yeah, apparently we live in a country where an artist isn't able to sing and write about what they want too anymore. However if you want to sing about night clubs, one night stands, and alcohol, well that stuff is all cool!
This country is busting at the seams and falling apart right before our very eyes. politically correct liberals in this country are doing everything within their power to take God out of everything they possibly can and this just isn't going to end well. If people want to believe the world and the complexity of the human body were all created without any intelligence and design then hey more power to you, I have no problem with that either, but people even making a Underwood singing about her faith an issue is purely intolerance, which is exactly what these same liberals pretend to fight against. Although liberals have no problem with their hypocritical lifestyles which is Captain Global Warming Mr Al Gore himself lectures about how were all gonna die if we don't go green as he's flying around in a gigantic private jet that burns more fuel in an day then most Americans burn in a year.

To me, all this song demonstrates the power in her vocals, which we already know she has. As Hunter Hayes, says every time, he introduces her, the singer with most powerful vocals in the business.
She always sings in a way that just gets me hooked to listening. I love her themes, her vocals, her style of singing and her in general. Congrats on her expecting her first child. :) This is a promising song to her upcoming album.
In reading the comments below, I think it is important to remind people that songs can be written to tell a story. This song tells a story that has been cast out of the media light as non-existant, yet it is a story experienced by millions of people around the world every year. It is the story of hope, of freedom, of love and of grace. It gets distorted by the taint of politics and muffled by cries of apathy, but many people in silence experience what this song talks about: freedom; in a way that can't be classified by politics or stamped out by media portrails. I applaud Carrie and anyone who tries to relate their story of hope and freedom. What she talks about in this song is something that can only be understood in the hearts of the millions who have been where this song talks about and have gone through the tranformation that this love and grace performs.

I would to say, Carrie has one of the most beautiful and powerful voices ever! She knows that only GOD can create a voice like hers. She is all around beautiful and I wish she would continue to release new Christian songs an a regular basis. She has to be putting a huge smile on God's face when she praises Him and only Him, that's obviously what we were all created to do. Yes the song is about Baptism, but most important is the lyrics relating not just to the public announcement by baptism of her faith, but to realize that it wasn't "the" baptism itself that SAVES it's God through His Son Our Lord and SAVIOR Jesus Christ! It is so imperative now more then ever that Christians speak out loud, Carrie knows this.....Because she's a Christian, she is unselfish and willing to tell the World she's saved, and you can be to. Oh and comments about what song she's made overall, all of us our sinners, so she's not perfect either. Jesus was the only perfect one who was and always will be sinless and blameless, and he FORGIVES, and Carrie has accepted that fact and well everyone can. Which is what we should all do. Song speaks a little bit to me . I was doing so many wrong things and not focussing on life and more worried about who was gonna love me the next day .. after being stuck on the side of the road with a new born with no gas .. a pastor of all people who flown by and seen my car on the side of the car stopped to help me had asked me if everything was okey I didn't even know he was a pastor I said Ya I just ran out of gas he said can you make it to the store.... ( exs brother put $10in but it wouldn't get me home 2 hours away ) he followed me to the store he filled my car up and he said ma'am do you know Jesus? At that point I lost it and I knew that some how God was trying to open my eyes that there is so much more life out there. That old man stood there and prayed for me and told me that God knew all my problems .Old man gave me his number and if I needed someone to talk to he was there. Never in my life had I thought that mabey this was suppose to happen so that preacher man can talk to me about how God has a plan for me and the way I was living life was just some thing in the past.

For those that complain about her pushing religion you must remember country music has strong roots in gospel music. Often there are church references in songs. Carrie shines because of her religious convictions. That along with her vocals is what makes this song work so beautifully. So special.. On repeat.

I have been listening to Carrie since she began and have fallen in love with the power of her voice and lyrics. Every song she does shows how much she has grown as an artist and how much her voice continues to grow. She isn't someone who wants their five minutes of fame nor is she a fading trend. There is no doubt that her music, whether Christian or country, is here to stay and that she will do amazingly either way. However I hope she will one day make a purely Christian album as she does so amazingly. God has truly blessed her with such an amazing talent.

It is about being born again, being washed in the blood of Jesus. Baptism in the water is symbolic of dying as Jesus did and coming up out of the water is rising from the dead into LIFE. Jesus said you must be born again if you want to SEE, you must believe.
