Great work. One suggestion with cupping is... it can be very intense, so the best way to go about it would be to introduce the cups with light suction first and slowly increase the pressure. Cupping is like a deep tissue massage, but instead of the tissue being compressed via massage, the tissue is being suctioned, so that is why it can hurt initially. Start off slowly, with half a pump or 1 pump. Then, the nervous system becomes more relaxed and so you can add more. One if a practitioner decides to do gliding/sliding cups (meaning to move the cups up and down the muscle belly), make sure that the skin is properly lubricated with lotion/oil. If it is not lubricated, the intensity will increase cuz now, not only is the pressure of the suction hard to take but the stretching of the skin, fascia and muscle tissue is being stretched and moved also. And sometimes, instead of that having a positive effect, it can have a negative one if the client is fighting the pain by tightening their muscles as a reaction to the discomfort. So allowing the client to feel the release of the nervous system will allow them to also release the muscle adhesions, trigger points, etc., therefore, having the intended results. Cupping is a very powerful and amazing therapy! I hope this info is beneficial for everyone. Sorry for the long message!
