Since the beginning of the war, President Zelenskyy has had to be on camera explaining why the rest of the world needs to invest in Ukraine, but what I cannot fathom is why any explanation is even necessary. It's as if us Americans and many others have amnesia about anything that happened before 1989 or beyond our own borders. Ukraine has not asked for troops or for any other country to fight with them or for them. The money that allies are 'giving' are being spent back to the countries for military hardware and of course future 'thank yous' are be pledged. We should not be asking WHY we need to support Ukraine but HOW Ukraine would like us to support their country. Slava Ukraini, not just for Ukraine, but for everyone.
Plain and simple this war is against the western world . Russia is supported by Iran , China their pet North Korea . That the rest of the western world understands , Finland and Sweden even joined NATO and that would never would have happened . The USA can not stand alone , but will be the last to fall , but will still fall . Only together we must stand . I will never live under current Russian nor Chinese governments again .

Over the past week were the heaviest bombardments since the start of the full-scale invasion with many civilian lives lost. Very sad that only Moscow was covered. Thank you, for bringing Ukraine to our attention again.

Americans took away Ukrainian nuclear weapon in exchange for guarantees of territorial integrity by signing on Memorandum on Security Assurances.
If not for that we would not be in a situation like today. We would be able to protect ourselves. States had full blown program of taking down Ukrainian military fleet by Bush Jr. Just for those reasons Americans have to help, by being directly involved in demilitarization of Ukraine. Give back what’s been taken away.

I am ashamed of the US for not fulfilling our promise, especially after we took so much of their nuclear and naval/air power away and promised to protect them years ago!

Same was with Kazakhstan, we were practically forced to give away all nuclear weapons left by the Soviet Union although Nazarbayev (our former president for 30 years) did have a choice to sell these weapons to Muslim countries. Their representatives visited Kazakhstan and offered big money. But what did Nazarbayev do? He gave away nuclear weapons in exchange for the guarantee of sovereignty from US and Russia and for the sake of peaceful development of the country. Same agreement as Ukraine has signed. Now we observe how this treaty isn't followed not only by Russia but by US as well. Why did US initially allow Russia to keep its nuclear weapons? Why only Ukraine and Kazakhstan were forced to refuse from it? Because US had too much trust in Russia. While we, the colony of Russia for more than 200 years, having similar history with Ukraine (we also had Golodomor that took away the lives of at least 2 mln ethnic Kazakhs in 1930s but the world doesn't know much about it), we have an ancient saying left us by our ancestors "Befriend with Russians, but always keep your fight axe by your side" which means NEVER trust Russians fully, always be ready to defend yourself. We've been their neighbours, their vassals and former suzerens (Golden Horde, Ghenghiz Khan's Empire) for many centuries. We know what they are far better than US does

Much of it goes to supporting the Ukrainian economy thru payment to pensions, government workers etc. However, even the money spent here on weapons for the Ukraine just adds to demand in an inflationary economy. Instead of making and building stuff for our own country...oh, like a bridge or two, maybe some rail systems, we are making weapons for a foreign country which will most likely have to make a concessionary peace at some point, regardless.
Must I spell it out.. A business model of countries being destroyed = American companies stock price rises, is disgusting.
