What's even sadder is that there really is no guarantee that there is a "Heaven" and that her child died so young, they spent time with each other just briefly. We could all only hope and wish that there really is something after death, where we could all meet our deceased loved ones again.

What you need to remember is that this woman only had a family because she latched onto an NBA star. Losing a spouse is terrible, heartbreaking. But, to lose a child. That's a whole other thing. Vanessa had to endure both and still had the courage to stand up and speak in front of all those people. Amazing.
I know it's not your intention. But you don't paint losing a spouse or child over or deeper than the other. Losing either is one of the most painful and devastating things in the world, such a thing shouldn't be differentiated.
Can’t believe this was a year ago. My heart aches for Vanessa, this is every Mother’s worst nightmare. As well as a wife’s worst nightmare. I’ll never forget waking up a year ago and seeing the headlines of Kobe’s passing. It was surreal, it did not feel real at all. As more information came flooding in it was even more hard to comprehend, it still is.

It was super surreal...I remember checking 2-3 news channels before I believed it. It just didn't seem real. I felt the same about MJ, Prince, and now Betty White tbh...that's the sign of a true icon. We can't imagine them no longer living...that's the impact that you really have on people.

She had gave speeches before at charity events, birthday parties, and at school activites, plus factor in most people in that room she knew and had been around for years. Im sure that was the easy part, but to talk about her daughter and Kobe who were no longer here was the hard part. I wouldve crumbled and shook like a leaf. It was said she was under heavy medication for this speech and the months afterwards. But she was def strong in this moment.

Christen Willmirth my grandma who was killed had a funeral and I kind of regret not speaking cause u just could say anything it was when I was 11 turning 12 in 2 months I’m 15 now.the guy who did it died and I was very close to him sadly but don’t feel bad for him even though I still hate him till this day but it’s hard to let go of that hate.

Yes that's when I had to pause. Maybe I can come back to it later but that moment hit hard. I have a 16 year old daughter and a 5 year old daughter and I really just cannot imagine the heart ache she is experiencing right now.
