It's probably because korean is quite similar to japanese, they both are not really tonal (unlike chinese) so it's easy to learn the vocabs and pronunciation. Both sentence structures are also SOV (subject+object+verb). The number of hangul characters (which are not that many) are easy to memorize compared to kanji or chinese characters that have more complex character pattern. That's why japanese idols learn korean faster
