The Batman is an upcoming American superhero film based on the DC Comics character of the same name. Produced by DC Films and distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, it was developed as the tenth film in the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) and a reboot of the Batman film franchise. The film is directed by Matt Reeves, who wrote the screenplay with Mattson Tomlin, and will star Robert Pattinson as Bruce Wayne / Batman, with Jeffrey Wright, Zoë Kravitz, Paul Dano, Andy Serkis, Colin Farrell, and John Turturro in supporting roles.
After he was cast as Batman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016), Ben Affleck began developing a DCEU Batman film with Geoff Johns, and was attached to direct, write, produce, and star. In January 2017, Affleck stepped down from directing and writing after struggling with the story and so he could focus on playing Batman. Reeves took over directorial and scripting duties the following month and reworked the story to focus on a younger Batman, hoping to emphasize the detective aspect of the character to a greater extent than previous films. Affleck stepped down from starring in January 2019, and Pattinson was cast the following May. Principal photography began in London, England in January 2020.

Alright guys we're back up! Sorry about earlier. It just makes so much more sense to show his ears when talking about his ears rather than his hands.
The stuntman suit’s are usually worse looking than the main suit, so the cowl will probably look much better once Robert Pattinson don’s the suit.
Nick Tiznado def stuntman suit. The Nolan suit used for the Batpod scenes didn’t look too great either when you saw production photos too.
I don’t think that’s the actual cowl design. That’s clearly a stunt man as you pointed out and the scene the pictures were taken from is a bike chase on between Batman and Cat women the buldging look is likely just because the cowl is helmeted in case the stunt double falls (which he does in the link below) and the googles are likewise probably just to keep the SD from getting anything in they’re eyes while filming. I swear batman fans are too picky. This suit looks realistic and I remember them saying they were going for a noir look. Well I think they nailed that look to a T. It looks great and true to noir fashion.

I will admit despite how odd the ears look on the cowl, I believe it’s supposed to be a prototype suit where it’s gonna look clunky like what we’ve seen before, until the 3rd act where we get the upgraded version of the suit that looks slightly different & better similar to Iron Man 1 where he went from a big bulky prototype to the awesome red & gold suit we all know & love today. Hell, even MCU Spider-Man is guilty of it where he went from a ragged Sweatsuit to a fully advanced supersuit. As for Shazam, at first, many people were skeptical of the suit judging it by set photos, but once they saw real footage of it, opinions seemed to soften a bit which I believe is what’s gonna happen with this film.
Looks like the Batsuit from a parody of Batman from Epic Movie.
Thing is, aside from that mask, I don't mind if the suit sticks around. But also I remember when the Joker camera tests came out and folks were saying that his make up would just be an early version.

Channel Pup While I may under stand where you’re coming from, but it’s sort of a different case. Here’s what I mean by extension:
*Joker:* by the time Robert Pattinson‘s Bruce Wayne becomes Batman, Arthur Fleck would most likely be dead by this point giving the opportunity for someone else (either portrayed by Willem Dafoe or Bill Skarsgard) to become the more comic accurate joker since it could take cues from the “more than one joker” arc from the comics.
*Batman:* Once again, it’s likely to be a prototype suit used throughout most of the film until the 3rd act where he gets a fully upgraded suit we all anticipated. This would likely be similar to Spider-Man II (Miles Morales) in ITSV where he started off with a Halloween costume until when he got the better suit in the 3rd act. The same can be applied with MCU’s Spider-Man, Daredevil, & even Iron Man as well.

The cowl is likely a stunt helmet. More padding for the stunt driver. Cause it doesn’t look how it did in the camera test.
People are never satisfied i bet half of the people were given the same tools wouldn't know how to make a batsuit.

I don't understand their thinking here. I don't hate it, but the mask looks like it's part of a completely different suit compared to the rest of it. The body is very angular and tactical but then the cowl is kinda sculpted and curvier? Very strange.

It’s a stuntman suit, the main suits are usually better.
Considering robert doesnt have nearly the appropriate amount of size himself, the suit will have to be a bit bulky to add some size to take him seriously

The body of the suit looks great, but the cowl looks odd. Either way, I’m not going to bitch about the suit. As long as the movie is good then I’m fine with it.
It is another test suit, like the one Tom Holland Spider-Man wore during Civil War so don’t critique it that harshly.
And Bruce turned Joe Chill’s gun into an armor bit that he put under his symbol in the comics to, it is not a thing this movie made up just to be edgy. Bruce in the comics said something like “this weapon was used to harm, now I’m going to use it to protect” so this movie is trying to do something similar to that.

I really like the suit, but let’s remember this isn’t the “expensive” suit this is the stunt suit, therefore it has that weird look and the googles are there to protect the stunt double eyes, and my theory is that his suit will evolve thru the movie

Now I know why they were kind of reluctant to show the full suit in the sneak peek "Reveal" video. I'm hoping this is the proto Batsuit because I thought it was fine until I saw the weird looking cowl, Batman is Batman to me but it wouldn't hurt for them to sort of steer away from the Nolan style Batsuit 'cause I 100% doubt anybody else is gonna want another TASM 2 costume repeat, meaning nobody wants to be thinking it's a copy or a re-design of a suit from the past successful Batman trilogy with Christian Bale.

In my opinion it looks fine it does remind me a lot of Arkham origins and I can see how a lot of people don’t like the design of the cowl and I wouldn’t mind a redesign of it as well aside from that I think it looks great
it looks really good from some angles, i think the stunt double has more protection on the head so that’s why it looks weird, it’ll look beter on pattinson

I think the goggles are probably the white eyes that’s why they’re so big and in another photo you can see them putting green on them to like make them white with CGI I do think some of this batsuit will actually look cool yeah it looks weird now but that’s because it a behind the scenes pic when they release an actual trailer or a better look of the batsuit then we can give are final thoughts of the suit in full

I'm going to be honest, I am extremely disappointed with the whole suit😞. First I thought that people were ridiculous for saying that they are copying daredevil's mask but after seeing those ears, I would have to say that even I think that there are too much similarities in the mask and ears. This may not be intentional but, it can be😑😑. In my opinion, nolan's batman suit is still the best.
Dude this is the early batman costume. Bruce did not start designing his costume with his fancy expensive technology before he consulted with Lucius Fox.
He started himself as an ordinary vigilante

That ain't Pattinson, who has a much slimmer, more defined face. This is undoubtedly a stuntman.
We have to remember that this is a Batman that has only been at this for 2 years. I think the goggles are only for the stunt people since it was clearly raining and he's riding a motorcycle. I think when it gets close to the end of the movie This suits going to be all damaged and beaten down that he has to makes a new suit for himself. But I like it and am waiting to see more.

I think the goggles are only there for stunts to make performing stunts in the rain a tad bit easier for the stuntmen. Don't think the actual cowl would look like this.

Well this is a set photo that is unaltered with cg. The bulbous head is almost definitely going to be fixed in post.

I hate the cowl and as you said not one bit flattering would’ve much preferred if the ears came from the side. The shades on the bat suit look like the ones from justice league which I dislike, batman doesn’t need shades. I would’ve taken the duct tape batfleck suit over this one. However if the rumour of this suit getting to be destroyed is to be believed ( a fitting end ) I hope to god he gets a more traditional bat suit, gold belt blue cowl and cape with a grey suit this would be among my favourite batman films ever because that would prove they understand the character and his history. If they gave him white eyes later on I’d like it as long as it isn’t implemented badly like they give him a pair of shades but just white, personally if they just give him black eyeshadow that should do but as long as they keep it on when he takes it off this time. The bike I like mostly due to the horns on it and the suit is a bit too tactical, looks too much like the Christopher Nolan films in some regards but I like the batman Noël influences. Overall the suits a 5/10 if they add a more traditional one id give it a much much higher score. Those horns need to be fixed!

I think the batsuit is WAYYY too dark of a grey. In all honesty, I genuinely thought it was another full black batsuit on first glance and for WEEKS until I realized it’s just a really dark shade of grey. I would’ve much preferred an at least SLIGHTLY lighter shade for the batsuit
Personally, I dislike the ears on the cowel; I think they would be better if they were longer, bulkier and go outside the cowel, like Alex Ross's Batman. The suit, on the other hand is okay, however, I do feel that it could be better. Now, I do wish the bat insignia had ears, but the notion that it is made from the gun that killed Bruce's parent, in my opinion, adds another level of depth to Bruce's trauma, combining the two into one: Batman.

Regarding your problem with the ears, I get it. They do look weird here. And I don't think it's a prototype. I mean, why would Batman have his fully equipped and tuned bike but a prototype suit? But I still think this could just be a suit for the stuntman, because that doesn't look like Robert Pattinson to me. It could explain the extra support on his forearms, depending on the stunt and camera position, and why the cowl looks so loose and weird. But still, the rest is probably true with colour and the belt and all. The first look at the cowl just didn't quite look like this one.
Dont worry its been heavily leaked that this prototype suit will be destroyed by the riddlers attack at the funeral scene and he will have a new suit which is a muted grey and navy suit with a subtle bronzed utility belt.

2HYPR the darts I think are cool because it visually shows that this version is more of a ‘knock out and don’t kill’ batman which is luckily a complete 180 when compared to batfleck and the cowl is both for a stunt dude and a biker helmet so it obviously won’t be perfect
I think the ears just need to be placed more to the front IMO. The goggles are growing on me every second. I'm all about a Batman costume getting a movie Spiderman lenses treatment. Still to me at looks like were just going back to Black armour. God why? This is so oooold and tired. With Burton it was cool, but Batman has never wore something like that in the comics unless it was a special suit. It doesnt look grey to me at all. Even if it is I'm tired of Batman wearing armour. I can get over it but still.

Sonic Gem it’s a stunt helmet, the ears are accurate to many interpretations of the character throughout his 82 year history and the goggles had green lenses and will be replaced by the classic white aesthetic later on .... boom all your complaints destroyed 😎
Cowl isn’t something I’d like to see even if this suit gets destroyed.
