Yeah exactly i totally agree on this one. They are so successful because their passion for music is so huge and never ending make them so famous. Therefore they always wanna produce better music always. That makes them different from other groups no biasness alright

This song is basically the boys touching on their fears of losing their passion for what they do. They did a collab video for this song with a dance studio and in that video it quotes dancer and choreographer Martha Graham who famously said that "a dancer dies twice - once when they stop dancing, and this first death is the more painful."

We literally have "Theorist Armys" bc the boys hit us with all this deep and connected stuff all the time. Their newest albums ,Map Of The Soul series is actually based off of a very famous psychologist (Carl Jung) theory about how one can reach individuation and self love. The boys also have an ongoing storyline in some of their music videos and the story is called Save Me.
It was actually very interesting to me that you pointed out the similarities between this song and the Black Swan movie. Bc yes there are A LOT of similarities and same massages. You'll actually notice much more once you react to Blood Sweat and Tears. The boys have been planning all of this for YEARS. I still get mind blown when I notice new hidden stuff and massage they deliver. They're truly amazing!

This is from the latest album title Map of the Soul: 7 that was inspired by Carl Jung’s psychoanalysis. Jung theorized we all have different archetypes that make up our personality: persona, shadow, and ego. Black swan was heavily inspired by shadow, the 2nd part of their album. Shadow is the unconscious aspect of the personality which the conscious ego does not identify in itself. We repress this aspects of ourselves because we are ashamed of them. The correct order is to listen to this album is by starting with Persona, Boy with love, Shadow, Black swan, Ego, and finally On. Within their album they cover all the archetypes. They are trying to achieve individuation. I hope this helps, I notice you mention their previous music is more upbeat and motivational. If you react to their music in order the message might be more clear. By the way I love you and thank you so much for giving our boys an opportunity

Caedran Yeidel I wouldn’t really suggest that though since a lot of lyric videos on KRplus are notorious for being incorrect due to them all trying to get their vids out as fast as possible. It’d be best to watch the MV by itself then watch again with captions turned on imo

You are exactly right about the two sides, the dark and the light. You noticed the black and white outfits, but did you also notice that when they wore white, their surroundings were dark and when they wore black, their surroundings were lit up? Their songs tend to tell at least two stories, frequently three and occasionally even four with just the song and MV. This one, just going by the lyrics, tells the story of their fear of losing their passion for their art and they have said that it's mainly about Jimin and the fear of losing his passion for dance. Jimin IS the "Black Swan". That's why he had wings. Both the song lyrics and the music video also refer to the current concept of their albums, based on the book by Carl Jung, "Map of the Soul", which talks about shadows in the psyche. There are explanation videos for a LOT of their songs and music videos because some of them have so many layers and some of them are difficult to understand without truly understanding Korean culture and language.
Sometimes it's easier for people to watch the MV twice, once for the visuals and then once for the lyrics. Or the other way around. Some people will watch a lyric video, so that they can focus strictly on the lyrics and then watch the official MV, so that they can focus on the visuals. It's very easy to miss something otherwise, but I don't know what would be easiest for you. It's very impressive how quickly you've learned their names and faces.
Also, you should watch their live performances when you get a chance. As you noticed during Jimin's segment of the "Who is Bangtan" video, they dance the same choreography that's in the MV when they perform live and still sing while doing it. They also have dance practices that you can watch, where it's just one camera focused on them and without the special lighting and cuts that are in the MV, so you can see the choreography much more clearly. On top of all of that, they have a variety show, Run BTS, a couple of series/movies showing behind the scenes of their tours, a series called "Bon Voyage" which shows them all going on vacation together with limited funds, and tons of compilations of them being goofy and extra, among other things. There is a LOT of content out their for them and that's not even taking into account the whole BTS Universe, or BU, story line that's been running through their songs and videos for the last 5 years. These guys are far deeper than any other artist I know of.

RM said in his live when he went through the album and each song one by one that he cried a lot while writing this. He said in that same live that he rewatched the movie Black Swan and you can see hints of the movie throughout but it also brought him to tears. I love a man who is in touch with his emotional side and how he (and of course the others) can be frank about what they're feeling at a particular time. As a lot people have said previously: other artists are worried about losing their fame/wealth while these young men are scared that they will one day lose the passion for what they do. For me that's what makes them stand apart from other groups and makes them even more special.

Blood, Sweat and tears next please!!!!!
The reason why it sounds like they're saying "Feelin' me now" is that in Korean, no consonant can stand alone without a vowel, so they always add a muted "eu" sound. This tends to carry over to English pronounciation, especially if a person isn't fluent which you can sometimes hear in BTS' earlier videos when they're speaking English, they may say things like "heart-eu" or "snake-eu".
They're all mostly good enough English speakers to not do that anymore in conversations, however they do still sometimes use this to make a word fit better into the rythm of the song.
This is what happened in Black Swan, since they need to make "Film it now" rhyme with "Killin' me now", but the former has one less syllable, they simply add an "eu" to make it sound like "Fil-eum it now", which then has the same amount of syllables as the other line and fits in better with the rythm of the song.
Another notable example for this is their song "Fake Love", in which they sing "Fake-eu love" in the chorus.

The swan is beautiful, but you still have to swim with your feet to keep it from sinking. They were as beautiful and gifted as swans, but they should have worked hard. The bts in a white suit mean the past, and the bts in a black suit mean the present. Shadows symbolize anxiety and fear, and mirrors symbolize overcoming.
