what you can do is put the dirt bath into a bigger basin. That way when he does his bath, the fall outs will be in the bigger basin, and you can re-pour it back into the dirt bath. Simple, less mess, less time cleaning up.
It must feels good to sleep safely, without worrying about predators.

Chucky is so adorable! You are both lucky to have her spend time with you, and she is so happy inside with you. Love the house you made for her! You have definitely given her healing, love, and a longer life. Such a beautiful story of life and love. 💕💜
I had a guinea pig given to me once. The family didn’t want her anymore now that she was older. She had lived in a cage her whole life and would not come out of it unless we held her. I bought her a huge cage so at least she could move around much more where she was comfortable. I bought her a pet igloo and a log to go inside of. One day I put a towel over half of her cage, and I heard her give the biggest sigh of happiness, and she snuggled in to sleep. She loved having part of the cage open to views, and part closed off and private with the towel. I sat her in front of a large window looking out over our patio where I bought flowers in pots and set them at the window. When she looked out she saw the flowers all spring through summer. Winter she could watch the snow fall. She would often gaze out the window and enjoy the beauty. She has crossed over the Rainbow Trail now, but while she was here with us she was very loved and we were very blessed.

Chucky has the life...her her own house, doesn't have to clean up after herself and has a wide variety of foods available on demand!
🤔 Does anyone know how and when Chucky got the injury on the right side of her face? They probably mentioned it in an older video, but I couldn't find any of their videos specially titled about it.
@@HighlanderNorth1 i dont remember the specific video, but she said she didnt see him/her for a while, and then she it came back, it had the injury.. She said shes not sure what happened, but she just tried to help keep it clean so it could heal.

I think they hibernate underground, although it would be fascinating to know that she's hibernating right there in her little house, even if we are unable to see her while she's in the box.
@@TheDarkDresser It would be a great experiment if they cover the small box with sand and also inside to see if she´d accept it :) Chucky seems to want to feel loved and protected at all times. Not hard to love her :)

Chucky is indeed lovable.
I believe they hibernate in the dirt underground. I don't know if they only hibernate underground, because it's quiet and dark.
Living in the wild can be hard on small animals because of predators, so they don't usually live very long.
Chucky and the other chipmunks are lucky to have this nice couple.

I feed gray squirrels. Sometimes they search the inside of my home, around the back door, for pecans. They are actually pretty good at finding the pecan jar hiding spot by sniffing them out.

One day, Chucky will wake up sorrounded by all the luxury she needs. “Is there more to life than mealworms, dirt, and salt?”. She’ll begin to feel the emptiness eventhough she has all the things she needs in her life. That’s when she’ll realize that happiness is the two persons that’s been feeding and giving her a place to nap all along.
That, and mealworms. Man, she really likes her mealworms.
Chucky is loving her 2-floor house.

If ChooChoo's care takers decided to make an enclosed home for Chucky, then Chuck might want to stay a lot longer, and if that home feels safe enough for Chucky, then Chucky might want to have her babies there. Hint at putting a camera in Chucky's enclosed new penthouse home. That way you can see when Chucky has babies.
