- In this episode of Project Police Interceptor, we install front and rear police lights as well as a light bar into the cruiser. Watch as I turn this beat up 2005 Ford Crown Victoria P71 into a police car for a police officer.

For a job I build ambulances so I do alot of similar work and I really respect what you are doing here. Lots of the work/customization is really tough to customize certain types of vehicles and have it look good and function properly in the end. Much respect from a Canadian subscriber.

From somebody who use to builder police cars from putting in lights sirens and running wires to put in the cage in the back everything for the center console and push bars. This was probably the best and most amazing job I ever had or did and you learn about what really goes into a cop car.

If I could give you some constructive feedback; mount the mini leds inside the front bumper where the fog lights would mount to keep them from getting scratched or ripped off the car.

As a volunteer EMT/Firefighter we are allowed to run lights in our personal vehicles here in our state (blue/white or if you're an officer on department red/white) when responding to calls and your video helped give me some ideas on how to set up my rig in my vehicle Thank You Chrisfix

Hey! Do you think you can do a separate video on how to wire up a dash cam in a civilian car? just to free up the cig lighter for other things. That would be pretty cool.
Just tap into one of the fuses that turns on when you turn the key. That's how I run my led strips and my turn on lead for my sub. Just tapped my radio fuse
You get cigarette lighter extenders
Cut the wires, pull a fuse that's active only when the key is turned, I.e. Radio fuse.
Wrap the hot (usually red) wire around one of the fuse teeth, then push it back into its spot. Take the earth (usually black) and put a ring connector. Find a bolt that's attached to an unpainted piece of metal, take it out. Put the ring connector connected to the earth and put the bolt through it and reinstall the bolt.
You're done, whenever you turn the key to the accessories or start the car the fuse will receive power, powering the accessory you added and the radio.

+Derp Ninja get some add a circuit fuse or fuse tap and run it above cig lighter fuse and boom (crazyrussianhacker) now you have empty cig lighter and dash cam

Cool build. I have that exact same lightbar you mounted in the front mounted to my UTV as the brush light/ high beam and that thing will light up the entire forest at night.

Dave in Wisconsin, at least, requiring residency was deemed illegal. Some places still do it though.

Great job so far! It's really coming along. I believe I commented this on the first episode, but I'm not sure if you noticed it, and since you'll be building a center console, I thought I might add this again. It might be a good idea to install a two-way radio for the officer to communicate with their department and other units, unless they just use handheld radios and shoulder mikes. If you do put one in, I recommend a Kenwood or Motorola transceiver. I've had some experience with radios, and if you need any help, I'd be glad to assist with picking a radio and programming it.

I like that analogy. "Work with the car." A lot of people I work on cars with try to do a fix without removing plastic panels when it is so much easier to have all that space.
Me and my friend are only 12, but my friend is really into being an officer when he gets older, so there is a very small chance that I get to make a police car

when they get decommed usually there's no point in having them refitted , this crown vic is an exception , most likely because it was decommed because it was being sold

Can someone please explain this series? From what if gathered he's building this for a police officer although I'm not sure.
One extra hole next to the rear light bar it would have been able to run that cord completely hiding it out of under the rear deck cover. The way you did that front visor set up actuallyy was a hell of a lot better than some shop installs I've seen

chris for the last mini led in the right side, you could see that the light was a bit tilted because the washer went through that wide hole

Your are very lucky that this is legal. When i get emergency calls, i need to call the police for escort, since it is not legally possible to put lights or sirens on private cars even though it may save lives. Have having to travel 100 miles to a hospital to assist in a critical patient, in bad traffic is hell at lest without police escort.
I'm pretty sure this is not the officer's private car , he has another car for general use , this one is just to get to and from work

+Redhawk Watch the beginning of this episode where I explain that. An officer is never "off-duty". If he sees an accident or a robbery or something, he should act if it is safe to do so.

+ChrisFix actually that is not the case, officers are told not to get involved in anything if they are off duty, this is for legal and liability reasons.

To hide the rear light wire, you can drill a hole through the panel.

Chris i need to say two things to your video. First of all very important. When hiding a cable under the a pillar cover you should verify that there is no window airbag blocked by installing. Second thing is your easy cut off of the cigarette lighter adapter. its not always a good idea because sometimes a voltage transformer or a electrical component can hide within.
