Putting a long weight in the exhaust near the bearing can help to keep the exhaust stable which will make the bearing last longer. Most places don’t put long weights on their shelves, so you’ll have to ask a member of staff for a long weight

Back in the 60s there was a model or 2 of chevys that REALLY did have muffler bearings. You can research this... however they stopped production with them because they like that 1 old bearing shown broke apart and could be shot out the exhaust. Lets just say i wouldnt wanna be the car behind that guy. Could be lethal to a person, exactly why they stopped using these in the 60s.

I used to build circuit boards at this big company, and any time we got a new person in our area, if we needed something from the stockroom we'd make a "shopping list". We'd send the new person to get the stuff, especially if they were still being trained how to prep components or use machines, and at the last minute we'd "remember" that we also needed more powdered H2O. We got one of 3 reactions, they'd come back fuming that they actually asked for it, they'd come back laughing because they got is as soon as they said it, or they'd come back confused because the stockroom employee told them they were out. It was great how many people fell for it. Even people who worked there for years but just came to help out our area for the day! 😂😂

Seriously guys DO NOT tighten it more than 3-4 Ugga Duggas, I accidentally did mine to 5-6 U-D's and cracked/bent my exhaust pipes which made my muffler bearing get lodged sideways in the tailpipe, had to spray the inside down with soapy woader to free it up, then I turned on the car to see if it worked. LONG STORY SHORT; Bearing shot out of exhuast tip and cracked the headlight of my roommates car and I had to pay for all the lost blinker fluid :/
