Hey Chris, I noticed you used an aluminum drip pan.. 👍🏽👍🏽 TWO THUMBS UP for safety!!
It would be a good tip to tell your viewers to be sure to use a metal or rubber drip pan whenever they're working with gasoline because plastic naturally builds static electricity. The chances are slim that there will be an ignition but there is that chance. Especially if the pan gets moved around - as it slides on the ground, more static electricity builds. 💣
Thanks for the great how-tos. You've saved me lots of money since I stumbled across your channel.

Hey @ChrisFix , ive been having problems with my 1992 ford Taurus where my fuel pump wouldn't pump sometimes so, i was told to change the fuel filter. i saw one of your videos on how to change it like 3 days before i actually changed it. let me cut to the chase i forgot a safety step and fuel came out of the fuel filter landed in my face out of reaction i turned my head to get out and alot of fuel went into my ear canal it burned for 2 hours, a ton of pain. i lost my hearing for the rest of the day and today i woke up sick (happened yesterday, cant hear well) bottom line is kids, always safety first went working on cars not to discourage from working on cars its a fun hobby and sometimes a necessity, but safety first.

Great video. That one is in SUCH a tough spot, I'm amazed you got such a decent video of it.....
MUCH easier on an Escalade.... Fuel filter is on the driver's side, under the driver's door, roughly... Much more accessible. But the concept is very similar, just like you showed.....

Had the local shop replace my 2002 Cavalier's fuel filter the other day actually...and then they came out and said uhhhh the fuel line is crumbling all over the place and we should have warned you that would potentially happen...The nice thing is they have awesome customer service and I only paid for an additional "fuel line repair kit" which was only like 13 dollars more than I originally anticipated...they didn't charge labor for the repair because they said it was technically a mechanical labor warranty as they broke the line...although it was unavoidable lol.

#1) Modern cars do not play well with running out of gas and you can damage the pump.
#2) Regardless if you run the tank dry, there's still going to be fuel in the fuel filter and in the lines.

Great video Chris - With the engine on, and the relay or fuse removed, the pressure is removed from the fuel lines. Just checking what stops the entire fuel tank leaking out when the filter is removed?

So glad my 2000 Tacoma has its filter on the bottom. Modern cars have it in the fuel tank. This Corvette uses the same type of filter, and it is the first thing I have ever replaced in a vehicle when learning DIY.

+Dcc357 Yea, it is a shame that they put filters in the tank these days! I am glad all of my cars have external filters. It's good to know the Tacoma has an external one too!

This should work on my 2000 mirage (Mitsubishi). The biggest issue is Mitsubishi decided to be a pain and put the filter right in the middle of the dratted engine bay where it's impossible to get any leverage. But thanks for the video, it cleared a lot up for me.
