I see people saying they don't know who any of these people are. I think the show is really geared towards a certain age bracket. If you're not over 30 and really into pop culture, you probably won't know these stars. I'm 35 and I knew everybody. But even if you don't like the premise or the stars they chose, you can still enjoy the entertainment of it. A lot of these performances are really good.

EVERYONE seems to be missing the point in this negative comment section. The point isn’t for Lady Gaga or Bruno Mars to come out on a show. It’s for celebrities outside of singing to get their talents recognized. If it was just famous singers, everyone would be bored, and know who it is.
And another thing, no one cares if you know the celebrity or not. If you don’t know them, oh 🐳. Consider yourself uneducated, as it’s easy to brush up on knowledge of these people. Just because YOU don’t know who they are doesn’t mean they’re irrelevant or “washed up” (as I’ve seen people say here). For anyone who does see this and not aware YES the format of this show has been taken from an extremely popular Sth Korean program called King of Mask Singer thats been going since 2015. It allows anyone and everyone with a voice to have fun with both celebrity judges and public just enjoying it......
I watch every single episode of this show and I love it!
As someone who’s watched the original Masked Singer based in South Korea and this. I appreciate the US version using people that aren’t singers but turned it to be pleasant singers in the end. I know it’s frustrating as you expected singers and musicians but it would be bland if we/judges were able to recognize who’s voices was who’s. That doesn’t mean they won’t be ever using the idea of famous artists but I like the fact that there were celebrities(idk nor do I care about the grading system) that were of different genres. Only reason in my opinion that Korea can get celebrities with just singers/actors/actresses, is that K-pop/any other genres don’t show off the vocalists voice. It’s a fun game in the end and also RYAN REYNOLDS WAS IN SK’s version because of his promotion of Deadpool in SK. I think we can give some leniency for the US version
This show has a great premise but it will drag on way too long. It would be more interesting if they did a new batch of reveals every night. More celebs quicker reveals

I think it's pretty difficult to do this show with American artists because unique voices are so prominent here. In the Korean version, even really popular singers could make it without being immediately found out (perhaps partly because a lot of them originated in groups where their voices aren't as spotlighted and/or because vocal quality/technique may be more valued than uniqueness, but that's just guesses), but here (especially modern singers) have such recognizable tones and singing styles that it'd probably be hard to actually do this with popular singers/rappers.

Another America redoes a foreign form of entertainment and fails... The reason why this south Korean show is super successful is because they have singers preforming covers that aren't their usual sound which would suprise the judge panel.

Meant in that the original is still strong with singers that are popular now as well as older celebs and not only has beens like another dancing with the stars. And if you look at the comments a lot are saying they have no clue who the ppl are. This show isn't supposed to show off popular celebrities. They are supposed to show off people with careers other than singing, as you can see, talk show hosts, football players and so on. Most of its viewers are over 30 and that's what the show is all about so its normal for the younger generation to not 'recognize' them.

But it's the audience that decides, so hopefully they love him as much as we do. 😊 Any way about it no matter what happens, I hope that this really helps show everyone that he truly is an amazing singer and performer, and I hope that his career gets the boost it deserves. My hubby even likes listening to him sing, and he doesn't like rap/hip-hop, but he really likes T-Pain's voice. ☺ I listen to it while I'm cleaning house and he doesn't tell me to "turn that garbage off" like he usually does lol 😄 He says he's got a really soulful quality to his voice, and I couldn't agree more. 😊

This show is a spin-off from Masked Singer in China.
The difference is the participants are all relevant pop-stars
#1 It's guessable because they have songs currently on the local radio.
#2 They got the balls to put their careers on the line and compete.
The U.S. celebrities don't dare to compete for their skill on national TV for fear of ruining their career if you get knocked out first.
So why not use a bunch of celebrities whose paycheck don't rely on singing. As if you know what football players sound like in a song.
Same Goes for Ken Jeong, You'll never see him compete in last comic standing. Not because he made it, but because none of them will risk losing.
This show is about as exciting as playing the Guess Who board game with your sister.

The main thing that gave Terry Bradshaw away was the shoulder movement he does when he's laughing! And another singer has been revealed since the making of this video; The Alien who was revealed to be La Toya Jackson!
I don't get the appeal in this show. Before anyone asks "why did you seek out this video", I didn't. For some reason, it showed up on my recommendations. Looking at the "celebrities" that have been on there so far, it looks like 2 NFL players and some has-beens who must be desperate for money.

There are more of these kinds of shows which American broadcastings bought from S.Korea: "Hidden Singer"(guess who is the real singer among fake singers behind curtain.), "I can see your voice" (guess who is singing on his own without lip sync among tone deafs). I hope they are aired soon.

Im sorry but this show is dissapointing me big time! I thought that the masked singers were real actual celebs! Instead they bring on these old, unknown washed out celebs from the past that practically no one knows! The only one that as actually still known as a celeb is torry spelling!
