The animal hospital told me that the kittens should be eating food instead of their mother's milk.
That's why I tried making baby food today to help them grow accustomed to cat food.
Thankfully, the two kittens are adapting well to their new meals.

안냥 집사입니다.
야옹이들은 습식사료와 닭가슴살에 적응해서 이제 숟가락에 있는 얌얌을 받아먹을 수 있게 되었어요.
처음엔 손바닥만했는데 이젠 두 손에 꽉차는 멋진 야옹이랍니다!

*claire’s patience is really astounding, from dealing with seven cats (now 10) to feeding the kittens even though she never really dealt with kittens at that age, she’s really a patient and wonderful person and i love her so much*

I don’t really get why they can’t drink the mom’s milk though? Baby animals will just naturally wean in time if you leave them alone, no reason to force it. It’s actually good for babies to have their mother’s milk.

To those who are wondering why Claire is trying to feed soft food to those kittens:
The vet adviced her to do so because they have teeth. What happens when kitten with teeth keeps biting mommy cat's nipples? It hurts the mommy cat. That is why Claire is feeding soft food and help them to grow properly. Claire knows what she's doing and consults the professional head on.

I LOVE how you take care of those little kitties and their mom. They must have had a very difficult and hard life until then, and now with you they are in safe, warm hands and they are taken care of. In the United States we have kitten formula that we feed them in a tiny bottle when the mama cat cannot feed her kittens enough. Kittens are opinionated, so it takes time to wean them from mama cat to eating kitten food,. They are watching their mama cat to see what she eats and will follow her example. I think you are so generous to take in the mama and her family, thank you for rescuing them.

It’s okay, Claire, they will start to eat solids when they are ready. Just make sure mom has lots of food so she can make their milk and keep offering the babies solids, when they are ready they will eat it.
