In 2019, my cat TT was diagnosed with feline kidney disease.
When cats develop kidney disease, their kidneys are no longer able to function properly, leading them to waste away until they die.
There is currently no known cure for feline kidney disease. That’s why I’ve spent the past few years painstakingly giving TT medication on a daily basis. These medications aren’t even meant to help her get better - at most, they just keep her disease from getting worse.
Obviously, TT wasn’t a fan of having to take her medication every day. Maybe that’s why she’s lost a lot of energy and motivation over the years.
However, last autumn, I learned about a lab in Japan that was working on a cure for kidney disease. I made a trip to the lab to see if I could find a way to help TT, and found hope for her future.
Now, TT and I are planning on making a trip to Japan to participate in the drug trials. I want to make sure she can participate before she gets any older, or before her condition deteriorates.
I know it’s not going to be easy. She’s a house cat, after all, and house cats aren’t big on long-distance trips. Even so, I have to try.
I hope that the end of this adventure can bring hope to not just TT and I, but all cats and cat caretakers around the world who are also suffering like us.

I am so happy to see LaLa slowly getting back to her old self again. With or without teeth her appetite is still unmatched (unless we're talking about LuLu)

Chuchu has learnt to assert herself as the cute boss. DD discipline Chuchu out of ❤ and show off his cool side. Chuchu is still the gentle princess as she's not as sassy as Lala. DD like most guys, only interested in gals treating them badly 😆

Fascinating to see Chuchu develop new traits, and her character seemingly developing.
It warms my heart ChuChu has such growth and become so confident!
TT has softened a lot towards DD, because when he came to greet her she just accepted it quietly.❤ And Momo looked dashing in his red collar.😍 Hope LaLa is doing alright, and I am waiting for the day when she walks around with her tail straight up behind her.😢❤

Well, we have to see more of Miss Chu. I never imagined her getting snippy with TT.
There is so much to love about TT: how she rests on the window sill and gazes upon the outdoors, how she closes her eyes and leans into your gentle stroking and soft voice, how she does her own gentle head butts when you lean down for a kiss.
I've always liked DD but even more so knowing that he "protects" TT. On the otherhand, I also like the fact that ChuChu feels so much better now that she's becoming *_somewhat_* sassy!
And, yes, even LaLa's ears are cute as they slowly rise above table level !
DD's getting more and more smarter these days...
Without a doubt. Cats do love. And TT clearly ADORES Claire.
I love seeing ChuChu gain confidence, and it’s equally sweet to see DD’s paternal side come out to teach ChuChu how to properly assert herself without being a bully.
Poor DD’s unrequited love for Queen TT is sad. Hopefully TT will return the love one day. DD is such as sweetheart.
MoMo is adorable. I love how it seems like he’s reverting back to his kitten days.
LaLa is recovering very well - hooray!
Of course, the usual food pirates are there to sneak a bite (LuLu, LaLa, DoDo, DD).
It's so wonderful that D.D cares so much about T.T that he's willing to defend her. He has a sweet soul and a good heart that cat plus he's an awesome big brother to the others. Take care Claire and cats as always I'm cheering on T.T.
Chuchu really have changed after her nose surgery. She is a big cat now, not as big as DD, but might be as big as TT, who usually is the queen, where Chuchu was on the bottom of their family. DD loves TT, first as big sister, but i think he also loves her more than as a sister 😍 Lala loves him as the same way he loves TT, but at the same way, he loves Lala as the little sister.
I love the ongoing DTDT lore, he really adores her, and I think she likes him more than she wants to admit. She shows more patience with him now (in short bursts), and they were even chilling on the cat tower together in the last video. Also, your English handwriting is awesome, Claire! Even better than mine..

Oh that's so much fun! Looks like everyone had fun taking turns having rides! Ooo Popcorn! My kitty Murrpau loves popcorn... she's so weird. That's funny... TT and DD being jealous of each other for your attention. My 2 cats get very jealous if I pick one up and not the other... but I can't hold them both at the same time. Mummbles just glares at me when I have Murrpau... and Murrpau will go and sulk if she catches me cuddling Mummbles. Sometimes they will have a little spat after... but then later I catch them all curled up together in one of the beds... so I know they are back to being besties. That was very cute.

Awww...DD felt a little bit neglected by mom, because mom was spending more time with TT.
