I watched the whole thing, and really like it. They sort of tentatively left it hanging almost like "Reacher", with him wandering off, but not really suggesting they're going to make another. I Hope they do though. 👍

I honestly thought it was a good movie. They didn’t try to remake the original which I love. This movie slightly resembles the original but has its own flavor. Conner is hilarious!
It was far from a percent movie, but I could see them doing more. It was entertaining and knew what it wanted to be. If it didn't cost too much and Gyllenhaal is up for it, then run it back with another bar and you can move his story forward.

Yes , i liked it too , i must confess , i pre judged it just going by looking at a tiny snippet , but after seeing it , it was entertaining and enjoyable , it did not take itself too seriously i dont think .
When he slapped him...there for a second I thought it was Will Smith. Then I was like, "nah, that's just Jake doin a scene."

My younger brother was a doorman, and did a fair bit of cage fighting around the time. It came in useful, but not as useful as the sap he kept in his pocket. It didn't matter how big the troublemaker was, one hit with the sap and down he went

Patrick Swayze's Dalton was a professional who could run the bar business by himself. He spoke with a lot of authority. I haven't seen this whole movie but have seen enough clips to look like Gyllenhaal is more a hired thug than a real professional.
HE is a MMA fighter with a past. Someone who wasn't in the bar/ bouncer business all his life. This is a more personal Dalton trying to deal with his own issues while he gets higher to bounce at a bar. Yes i think the original story is better, but this one is more focused on the Dalton character and his demons.

yeah basically, i never watched the original, but from what i know, they wanted to make dalton a different character, and use only the original premise, and not just completely reboot it. In this one he is a bouncer hired to protect the patrons at the bar because of the extreme violence.
@@TheMan-ct8gh I would put it here is a fighter hired to be a bouncer. Half of the"plot" is why Dalton is willing to do this to himself. So in theory backstory. Best non forced story elements in the movie.

As someone who has watched both.. you can't take either as a serious movie. I'd say the second one is better than the original when it comes to choreography and Dalton being the nice tough guy. The main villian I'm the first was better though.
I saw the original and it was alright. I know that it’s considered a classic, but I really thought it was just “ok”. I’ve only seen clips of this movie and it seems like it’s on the same level. Love Jake Gyllenhaal and it looks like he brought a solid performance. I imagine it’s just a fun, stupid remake.

I watched this last night, weird film. Forget everything you know about the original movie. It's loosely based on the original, very loosely. Conor McGregor was playing Conor McGregor. At times, it looked like it was filmed on a phone. It wasn't a bad film, just weird 🤷♂️
No, it was bad. It was horrible, like it was the 1st rehearsal. No one seemed to show any range except Connor who played Connor.

This reminds me of those direct to video Steven Segal flicks. Lots of bad dialog and lots of bad acting. Kinda sad this is what Hollywerd has become.
From the boring ass characters, to the sorry writing and unfunny jokes, this whole movie made me feel nothing for any of the people involved. Conor was THE BEST part about this whole movie.

they are just trying to do a new thing, they didnt want to just rehash the original they wanted to use the premise and make it their own, but the talking fits the new Daltons personality.
I dunno. Is this band what passes for lounge entertainment today? A couple of cute girls doing lame Reggae? Jeff Healy was in the original and I would think they'd at least have someone like Blackberry Smoke as the bar band. I may watch it, but I'll probably have to watch it alone since Roadhouse without Patrick Swayze and Sam Elliot would be blasphemy for my wife.

This was probably one of the worst movies I've ever seen. The plot made.no sense the bar owner didn't even seem interested in anything, and these were some of the least menacing bad guys of all time. Even Conor Mac Gregor was like a bad cartoon. The whole thing top to bottom was an F
