@Clark Kent Yeah, but climate change (the weather being super hot) might not necessarily start the fires, but once a fire is started, it burns faster and it's WAY more difficult to extinct by the firefighters. So, yeah, climate change absolutely contributes to this as well.

So many fires due to so many trees! The trees have been protected for too long and allowed to grow untouched. Fires are also just part of nature. Once in a while a forest fire is good to clear out the old and bring in the new.
Yeah, and if trees are gone, what oxygen are you going to breathe?? 🤔
Ecologicaly, you're correct. Controlled fires are supposed to achieve this while reducing or eliminating human impact. They clearly haven't done enough.

Is it really that surprising that the forests are burning? I remember visiting Mesa Verde National Park, and there was literally a foot of dry wood collected on the forest floor. I rather doubt that it looks all that different elsewhere. This is not just climate change, but also the consequence of decades of forest mismanagement.

I think its best they do it 3 days a week. They are able to gather and examine more information and produce it well. It might reduce the quality if there are days without a lot going on
I just find it weird they do it Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays. Maybe Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays would be better distribution of episodes.
Of course when this show started it was only on Tuesdays and Thursdays so the Friday episode is just a bonus

Because of the lockdown orders, I've seen so many new hiker and campers go into the forest for the first time this year. Unfortunately they bring their ignorance too and don't take the time to consider potential fire conditions and prevention. They just think "oooo campfire like in the movies! I want it bigger!" and then end up burning everything down.

It's not a natural burn cycle. It was initiated by human activity (i.e. The family that lit fireworks during their gender reveal party).
Controlled burning and clearing must be done.
