In 5 years they might maybe have volume production. Where do you think Tesla will be in 2028??? Seriously!!! To be mentioned in the same breathe as Tesla is nonsense. Maybe they develop somewhat quicker than Tesla, but maybe not. Or maybe they go bust. But From Model S to now was 9 years for Tesla. And they had a clear runway with no real competition to mention. I think to concertina 9 years into 5 is extremely unlikely. No Tesla have escaped the coup!! That's why the system is trying to hold them back!! It's their only option. Horses and stable doors come to mind.

in most cases, when companys speak of making future products on the same platform, it means, that they just havent thought those products through and cling to the hope, that the products to come will be cheaper in development and production. however, for the platform-idea to work out, products actually have to be scaleable and differ only in the amount of output/strength e.g. like heating appliances. when it comes to cars, this concept cant work: a pick-up can never work with the undercarriage of a sedan, nor vice versa, same goes for most other parts like the steering, transmission etc. in these cases the "platform strategy" is only mentioned as a means of window dressing.

Most of these clips are from Lucid hour and a half release presentation, they talked about self driving some but not to many details. They did show the sensors that are installed and they are almost identical to the Tesla sensors. My guess is they are going to let Tesla solve the FSD problem and then just license their software in the Lucid vehicles. That's a win win for both, Tesla gets 5 to 10k for every vehicle Lucid sells and Lucid gets FSD without the billions investment needed to make it work.
