  • The outcome of the 2020 election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump will likely have a major impact on the equity market. Although the economy has historically performed better under a Democratic president, that doesn’t always necessarily reflect on market performance. However, which party controls the White House can still be an important element for those looking to earn big in the market. So how does the U.S. election impact the stock market and how should investors prepare?

@Dave C it’s bc there isn’t uncertainty to those who are well versed in the economy. The pandemic has reduced the uncertainty, and we understand that cash flow has actually become very defined. It’s stupid easy to see money flow in today’s market place.

Nothing substantial is mentioned in this video. You can totally skip this and save 12 mins of your time. Poor quality production from CNBC. CNBC you can totally remove the comment at 5:59 by Roussanov. It's a waste of time since he is just a repeating what you already mentioned. At 11:07, Roussanov: "The more risk tolerant people will invest more in stocks and reap the benefits ..." He isn't saying anything useful at all. This CNBC video is like CNBC getting "experts'" opinions but all that was said are obvious facts like "the Sun rises from the East every morning." We don't need "experts" to tell us that. And also, more risks doesn't guarantee more rewards, more risks could bring you more losses too.

Trump reduced business regulations and taxes, causing the largest economic rise in over 30 years. Even during the March recession, the NASDAQ and DOW were higher than they ever were with Obama in office. Trump said he would lower taxes, while people recover from the COVID drop, while Biden said he would raise taxes. The economic drop was also caused by Democrats who forced us to lock down. The lockdowns caused small businesses to go out of business, costing jobs and expanding wealth inequality

Stock market is not based on earnings ... look at P/E for Apple, Zoom, Tesla, Amazon ... the list goes on. There’s no return in the bond markets so money is going into quality companies. Simple. With low corporate tax companies come back to the US and you get a 3.5% unemployment rate (pre covid). It’s not hard to understand.

One little piece of information that needs a disclaimer is: "52%" of American families are invested in the stock market. Not really, everyone's pensions from work are invested in the stock market. It affects everyone, not just investors. Example, here in Canada a lot of people are ignorant about American investments and a lot don't care because it is not in our country. Wrong again! Our CPP (Like US Social Security) owned Neiman Marcus along with an investment firm in LA. Well it went bankrupt. Millions of Canadians rely on CPP to survive in their old age. Affects everyone, domino affect.
