Samuel Thomas my sons uncle died of it yesterday,he was in his early sixties and always very active. His wife recovered but his mom also died 2 days before him. My son is heartbroken,his uncle could be here many more years if it wasn’t for this virus.
I truly feel that I had COVID19 in late January and I never felt so bad in my life. I was so sick I was out for two weeks difficultly breathing sweaty and so tired that it was scary I couldn't even get up sometimes it was scary . We can get thru this. God is with us n God did help me thru it.

I was thinking the same, also has some similarities with Dengue, we just came out of one of the biggest epidemic of Dengue in our country. I heard a lot of similarities, specially the fever.

As someone who's asthmatic and had Pneumonia twice let me give you an idea of how hard it is to breathe. Imagine breathing through a straw for several days. That amount of air through both mouth and nose. Straight talk...it fucking sucks. If you think that that is easy you're a damn fool. No matter how big, buff, tuff or strong you are this shit will beat you down to the ground if it gets that bad. It doesn't matter how much you lift. Doesn't matter how fit you are. @@anthonyw9129 effects everyone differently, healthy people tend to only have symptoms around waking and sleeping hours at least initially, and fever can be powered through if the symptoms arent otherwise overwhelming. Everyone is different, obviously.

I recovered after 20 days here in Seattle. It was hell 3 trips to clinics and day and night in ER. I can say I noted the exact same crazy dreams or game me including a conversation with my dead Father one of the highest fever nights I had. I can see how this can kill people it was the sickest I ever been in my life and I have a healthy immune system. I never get the flu and rare If I ever get a common cold. This was the real deal.
What was the conversation with your father like? My father passed away last year, and while it would be awful to come down with Covid19, having a conversation with him again would be one silver lining.

My wife and I are 60+ and considered high-risk, but fortunately the Bay Area started early, and so far we have been symptom free for 5+ weeks, but no matter how bored we are, we cheer each other up, and think about how lucky we are. I start new job with one of the largest healthcare providers in a week, and I'm excited about giving back to humanity as much as I can during this portion of my life. Yep. Fever can make you hallucinate... especially high fever. When I had dengue hemorrhagic fever 3 years ago, I had hallucinations because of days of high fever. I was so disoriented.
I had (I think) corona-light, thank God. Pain in my lungs, throat ache, chills, body aches especially behind my shoulders. I slept most of the time. My throat felt dry all the time. I drank liters and liters of ginger tea and ate soup. That really alleviated the symptoms, made me more comfortable. I am not sure if it oppressed the virus or if I just got lucky. Everyday I call my girlfriend who is in quarantaine. She says she has pain everywhere, cant sleep from it, wakes up by it. Her back, midsection, lungs. Everything hurts. Breathing is harder, constricted. Fever dreams, fever nightmares. One day fever is down, next day fever is up. Her vision is blurred, splitting headaches, nauseau and vomiting. And of course that plague-cough. Yeah Im a bit worried, especially since she keeps saying that she's 'fine'.

As a physician, I would like to caution people and correct the notion that taking excess amounts of Vitamin-C is innocuous. Taking more than the RDA of Vitamin-C even for a short period (e.g. months) can lead to irreversible kidney damage & renal failure due to oxalate nephropathy.

Here's my experience, and I hope it also changes any perception that you just ride this out like a bad cold or the flu. This stuff is embarrassing, but if it helps someone, I can deal with being embarrassed. I had a fever of 102.5 - 99 for 3 weeks. Mine started with 4 days of bloody diarrhea, and I didn't know I had a fever till day 2, which is when I called out from work. The fever climbed, and I'm like Chris, my normal is 97.6. For about 10 days the fever stayed between 101.7 and 102.5. I can't describe the aches. I tried Ibuprofen, tylenol, I even had a couple of percocet left over and tried those just to ease the aches, nothing helped. Every joint, ever hair follicle just hurt to the max. They tell you to rate your pain, and mine was a hard 9 for a week. My chest gurgled, wheezed, it was so loud it kept me awake. I also slept most of the time. The aches started to subside, and I did find some nyquil in a drawer and that helped. Then the cough started. It was a dry cough, but i'd cough so hard I'd lose a little bit of bladder function. All of this is embarrassing. It was a cough that made me feel like John Hurt's character in Alien. My illness started Feb 25, I saw a doctor when I could finally stand and walk without shivering and falling over. Along with waking up aware I'd been just talking out loud, I couldn't keep my balance. That was March 11. I still had a fever, she had no test kits for fever or for CoVid19. She told me I could go back to work after I'd been without a fever 24 hours. by the time I got back to work, I'd missed a whole pay check. Because I had mine so early, the extra sick time they gave us is great, but it can't be used retro. Plus , no test kit, so they could only say 'symptoms consistent with". I live alone and have no one who would have come to help me. I have a number of painful genetic conditions that I live with, So I'm used to taking care of myself, and I figured the hospital would cost a fortune and just hydrate me and possibly isolate me. I was doing that on my own, and I couldn't afford a any trips to the ER. It might sound bizarre I didn't go to the doctor sooner, but I'm used to being alone and ill and getting myself through it. I was really lucky I had gotten a big enough pay check the previous 2 weeks, I'd splurged and filled my pantry a week before I got ill, even though I had to force myself to eat. I've had a lot of surgeries, and illness in my life and am immuno-compromised. I take 4 buses a day round trip, work and home, and I think I had to have picked it up there. The amount of pain I suffered was on a par with one of my hospital stays. It was horrible. I slept sitting up, because if I lay further back I couldn't breathe. I had pneumonia 25 years ago, I definitely didn't get to that point. Do everything you can, and avoid this virus.
My symptoms included: Started with two days of sneezing. Third day feeling strangled from the inside. Throat not sore but constricted with a TINY dry cough. One solid week of horrendous dry coughing, fever, heavy chest, complete exhaustion, lack of appetite, blood red super itchy and watery eyes, and forced to sit up to sleep or else I couldn’t breathe. Had to develop an alternate way of getting air in or I would cough until I dry heaved. I found that if I used my stomach muscles to pull in air it helped a lot. Three weeks (so far) of continued lesser cough and very dry, sore nostrils. I COULDN’T GET TESTED I COULDN’T GET TESTED I COULDN’T GET TESTED This thing ain’t no joke, and there’s VERY little help unless they hospitalize you, so take care of yourselves.
D. Mills I’ve been having the same exact symptoms, most have resolved. I feel better each day but still will randomly get fatigued, headache, no appetite, slight cough still. This is day 15 for me. I’m hoping by week 3 I will feel back to normal. Hope you feel better too!

I appreciate you sharing this info. Im high risk and been VERY careful but when I read your symptoms I have to say Im pretty worried. Been sneezing alot with a tiny dry cough. I kept telling myself it's allergies but my throat has been such a dark angry red, its never done that before with allergies. I think this virus will chew me up and spit me out if I get it. I have badly damaged lungs from pneumonia as a kid, scarred my lungs and I have COPD. You didnt mention it but did you also have a fever with your symptoms?

Iwon Again I started feeling symptoms after I left work on the 10th. Started with body aches. I worked until the 12th; that’s when the fever came and by the morning of the 13th my husband had to dress me and get me to the ER.

Physician here. For everyone’s information, fever is defined medically as a sustained oral temperature greater than or equal to 100.4 F, regardless of what ‘temperature you normally run’. Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a “low grade fever”.
Dr. Z I know that medically, you speak the truth. But it's also factual that when it comes to a mother with her child, Mothers consider it to be a fever of great concern when their children hit 99 degrees. I'm not saying that they are right but the 99 degree temperature may not be dangerous for the child but it becomes a very serious threat to any person who tells the mother that her child with a 99 degree temperature doesn't have a fever.
Dr. Z -I was kidding. Well I was kinda serious. I mean I was joking about a temp over 99 n a kid is a temp. I was serious about this applying to every child except for "our" kids. The pic is my husband. So I'm a mom who's been at the ER and has gotten downright belligerent with a doc when he says my kid's 99.2 degree temp doesn't constitute a fever. Can't that doctor tell that my baby might b dying. Other women report the same arguments. At least the over protective ones. When my mother was sick, she seen her mother and passed away 2 days later. I watched her stick her arms out and said "mama." I do not know if she was actually seeing spirits or if her mind was playing back memories. I recovered after 20 days here in Seattle. It was hell 3 trips to clinics and day and night in ER. I can say I noted the exact same crazy dreams or game me including a conversation with my dead Father one of the highest fever nights I had. I can see how this can kill people it was the sickest I ever been in my life and I have a healthy immune system. I never get the flu and rare If I ever get a common cold. This was the real deal.

Yep. Fever can make you hallucinate... especially high fever. When I had dengue hemorrhagic fever 3 years ago, I had hallucinations because of days of high fever. I was so disoriented.
I had (I think) corona-light, thank God. Pain in my lungs, throat ache, chills, body aches especially behind my shoulders. I slept most of the time. My throat felt dry all the time. I drank liters and liters of ginger tea and ate soup. That really alleviated the symptoms, made me more comfortable. I am not sure if it oppressed the virus or if I just got lucky. As a physician, I would like to caution people and correct the notion that taking excess amounts of Vitamin-C is innocuous. Taking more than the RDA of Vitamin-C even for a short period (e.g. months) can lead to irreversible kidney damage & renal failure due to oxalate nephropathy.

Here's my experience, and I hope it also changes any perception that you just ride this out like a bad cold or the flu. This stuff is embarrassing, but if it helps someone, I can deal with being embarrassed. I had a fever of 102.5 - 99 for 3 weeks. Mine started with 4 days of bloody diarrhea, and I didn't know I had a fever till day 2, which is when I called out from work. The fever climbed, and I'm like Chris, my normal is 97.6. For about 10 days the fever stayed between 101.7 and 102.5. I can't describe the aches. I tried Ibuprofen, tylenol, I even had a couple of percocet left over and tried those just to ease the aches, nothing helped. Every joint, ever hair follicle just hurt to the max. They tell you to rate your pain, and mine was a hard 9 for a week. My chest gurgled, wheezed, it was so loud it kept me awake. I also slept most of the time. The aches started to subside, and I did find some nyquil in a drawer and that helped. Then the cough started. It was a dry cough, but i'd cough so hard I'd lose a little bit of bladder function. All of this is embarrassing. It was a cough that made me feel like John Hurt's character in Alien. My illness started Feb 25, I saw a doctor when I could finally stand and walk without shivering and falling over. Along with waking up aware I'd been just talking out loud, I couldn't keep my balance. That was March 11. I still had a fever, she had no test kits for fever or for CoVid19. She told me I could go back to work after I'd been without a fever 24 hours. by the time I got back to work, I'd missed a whole pay check. Because I had mine so early, the extra sick time they gave us is great, but it can't be used retro. Plus , no test kit, so they could only say 'symptoms consistent with". I live alone and have no one who would have come to help me. I have a number of painful genetic conditions that I live with, So I'm used to taking care of myself, and I figured the hospital would cost a fortune and just hydrate me and possibly isolate me. I was doing that on my own, and I couldn't afford a any trips to the ER. It might sound bizarre I didn't go to the doctor sooner, but I'm used to being alone and ill and getting myself through it.
I was really lucky I had gotten a big enough pay check the previous 2 weeks, I'd splurged and filled my pantry a week before I got ill, even though I had to force myself to eat. I've had a lot of surgeries, and illness in my life and am immuno-compromised. I take 4 buses a day round trip, work and home, and I think I had to have picked it up there. The amount of pain I suffered was on a par with one of my hospital stays. It was horrible. I slept sitting up, because if I lay further back I couldn't breathe. I had pneumonia 25 years ago, I definitely didn't get to that point. Do everything you can, and avoid this virus.

My symptoms included:
Started with two days of sneezing.
Third day feeling strangled from the inside. Throat not sore but constricted with a TINY dry cough.
One solid week of horrendous dry coughing, fever, heavy chest, complete exhaustion, lack of appetite, blood red super itchy and watery eyes, and forced to sit up to sleep or else I couldn’t breathe. Had to develop an alternate way of getting air in or I would cough until I dry heaved. I found that if I used my stomach muscles to pull in air it helped a lot.
Three weeks (so far) of continued lesser cough and very dry, sore nostrils.

I appreciate you sharing this info. Im high risk and been VERY careful but when I read your symptoms I have to say Im pretty worried. Been sneezing alot with a tiny dry cough. I kept telling myself it's allergies but my throat has been such a dark angry red, its never done that before with allergies. I think this virus will chew me up and spit me out if I get it. I have badly damaged lungs from pneumonia as a kid, scarred my lungs and I have COPD. You didnt mention it but did you also have a fever with your symptoms?

Physician here. For everyone’s information, fever is defined medically as a sustained oral temperature greater than or equal to 100.4 F, regardless of what ‘temperature you normally run’. Contrary to popular belief, there is no such thing as a “low grade fever”.
Dr. Z I know that medically, you speak the truth. But it's also factual that when it comes to a mother with her child, Mothers consider it to be a fever of great concern when their children hit 99 degrees. I'm not saying that they are right but the 99 degree temperature may not be dangerous for the child but it becomes a very serious threat to any person who tells the mother that her child with a 99 degree temperature doesn't have a fever.

The pic is my husband. So I'm a mom who's been at the ER and has gotten downright belligerent with a doc when he says my kid's 99.2 degree temp doesn't constitute a fever. Can't that doctor tell that my baby might b dying. Other women report the same arguments. At least the over protective ones.
