@@unbreakable7633 The problem with "limited" governement is that those who want it usually really want the right to trample over other people's lives without pesky laws and regulations getting in their way. "Small government" ultimately only benefit the top 1% of the population. A typical example is workers' rights protection. If you have them, you end up with Scandinavian countries where everyone makes a living wage and can live a decent life. Sure, becoming a billionaire is virtually impossible, but do you really think that's a problem? On the other hand, take a look at the US, and the way people like Musk or Bezos treat their employees, even going as far as to prevent them from unionizing. That's what "small government" looks like: a libertarian dystopia where the rich own the poor.
But you're certainly right on the fact everyone should be free to live their lives as they please, so long as you don't put the lives of others at risk or cheat the system (we live in society, and it's important to have some rules so that we won't trample over each other every chance we get).
Thomas shouldn't even be on the court.

The SCOTUS ruling for Dobbs v. Jackson didn’t decide “abortion should be handled statewise.” The ruling overturned Roe v. Wade which recognized that access to safe abortion was a constitutionally protected unenumerated right. That constitutional protection meant no state could prohibit access to safe abortion (during the first 2 trimesters of pregnancy).
Dobbs v. Jackson struck down that constitutional protection, which allowed states to enact and enforce abortion bans.

Conservative and liberal justices pressed the abortion pill challengers on why a nationwide ban is needed if the doctors pushing against the pill can conscientiously object to treating certain patients or pursue a narrower remedy that applies only to the plaintiffs. But some conservatives questioned the argument by the Biden administration that the doctors who oppose the drug can’t sue the FDA.

They should take case back to the states.
In Denmark we have free and non-conditioned abortions till 12th week, and that works fine.
However, a big part of the reason why it works is because most people get free neck fold scans and other health tests done before 12th week. These tests and scans can detect any genetic issues that might cause you to conclude that you are not up for the responsibility of raising the child that this embryo will become.
And importantly: 12th week is also, medically, when it goes from being an embryo to being a fetus, meaning something that could be called a human not just cells.
And *if* serious health problems arise *after* the cut-off the medical professionals still have full discretion to give you the best healthcare they can including aborting the fetus if its a health risk to the mother.
Its just the *no questions asked* abortions that end around 12 weeks.
There isn't even a pregnancy the first 2 weeks.

I have read that abortion has been legal in Denmark since about late 1973.it also seems like they don't make as big a deal out of abortion in Denmark as they do in the US.. You don't hear of doctors getting hassled,clinics getting hassled and vandalized, etc..
Many European countries that have legal abortion have an average cut off time limit for abortion on request at around 12 to 15 weeks, which most people would think is fair and reasonable.. I guess you have to draw a line somewhere..
